Love your Rants,Waj‼️ 💯💯👍

Yes, Waj, everything you said! Exactly! I say to them go crawl back under your slimy rocks you cockroaches. But that’s insulting to cockroaches. What you say is so much more than what you say. Love.

JP Connolly's avatar

Yeah; Cockroaches have survived for millions of years, bless their creepycrawliness. The hatemongers don't have that kind of staying power. Haters are frail things, ugly, loud mouthed, eating away at themselves. They can't bear what they see in the mirror every day, so they try and lay it on the rest of the world.

I'm a 65 year old white woman and love your multi racial, many colored view of what America should be. After all, white is not a culture, it is just the absence of color. I hate everything Trump and his nazi handlers stand for. The future needs to be a rainbow 🌈. We need to completely re boot our government. Hate and thievery is not a sustainable way of life. Let's start over.

I know! He said he might post over the weekend but he’s on tonight by himself for 1.13 hours. Thanks Waj.

What an awesome, educational rant! And darkly humorous - especially at the end.

I like sooo much about your posts but I must add that I’m hearing too much negativity about the Democratic Party. I feel the need to delete your posts even though I bought your book and think highly of your thoughts.

I’m 85 and have been a Democrat for all my adult life. I KNOW we’re not perfect but right now we need one party to be supported, not so much negativity. It’s a way for many to just give up and not vote in the next election. Then if that happens …what have we gained. When the Dems are back in ppwer, that is the time to give constructive feedback…change the parts that aren’t working and enhance the parts that are.

The American public doesn’t need to be lied to…thinking all is good with the Dems. But oh so many sites I watch are full of good, hard working Dems that know change is needed. But they are doing something about it not just bitching about it. I’ll hang in there for a bit…but not long if nothing changes.

Martha Kehoe's avatar

Stay with us Pat it’s a bit negative today but it’s a democratic loving community and you are part of it. ❤️

Sandra McKenzie's avatar

Martha, I also hear what Pat hears. Waj is always bringing down the Dems. I hardly hear a constructive plan for the party’s win in 2026 or 2028. He rants a lot like an angry, resentful old uncle who’s been done wrong as a brown man. I’m a black woman and I could regale you with the wrongs this country has done to my people. However, this is the time we need to discuss strategies and tactics to kick the GOP out of office. He’s really negative and his platform is largely an opportunity to say I told you so and how terrible this country is. It makes it sound like we should all abandon all hope and jump ship.

DavidPageYea's avatar

So you, Sandra, find Waj offensive?

I totally disagree. Our party does need to do better.

Also Waj is inspiring most of us, I would venture 99%, with his ridicure of the right. Using this post of his as an example, I'd say that 99% of his speech was about what we all find offensive in the agenda of our adversaries, and that's strong motivation to continue our struggle.

Polly Post's avatar

Pat, he's venting here. Stay on here…Waj is just venting. He's enraged and bringing up the inequality (even if it's a bit much). All of us on the left, moderate, even centrists (and Republicans unhappy) have to stand up on reform. Maybe it seems like ADHD or PTSD, but that's the nature of this news cycle and the horrible blitzkrieg we're all dealing with right now. He had to travel, deal with kids, tourism, and the bs going on. He feels attacked and is outraged due to multiple stressors and long-term oppression imo.

DavidPageYea's avatar

Every HONEST progressive channel supports democrats over republicans but also, necessarily, must remind activist supporters that the party overall needs to do better. Corporatists may be useful for the vast moneys they can raise for their election campaigns, but their betrayals of our values to oligarchs are a big excuse for independents and MAGAts to wonder if republican politicians are all that worse (Yes, R's still are much worse than D's!). [Fetterman and Manchion may sometimes vote with democrats, they may officially call themselves democrats, but I think most will agree that both are massive betrayers of the party and its image.]

.

It sounds like you've grown too old to stay in the fight. Peace be with you, continue voting democrat, but as they say, "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen".

You're finally waking up

Good.

DavidPageYea's avatar

Waking up to what exactly?

Sandra McKenzie's avatar

Pat, I appreciate your candor in voicing your observation about the thread of demonization of the Democratic Party Waj consistently proffers. The party has room for improvement and has a lot of young leadership potential that we need if we’re going take back the country in 2026 and 2028. However, instead of raising a constructive agenda we can all get behind, I find his insistent condemnation discouraging and frankly off putting. I too am concerned and dubious that he really wants Dems to succeed? His rants need to be balanced with proposals and ideas for success we can all get behind. Instead he many times comes off as bitter and disillusioned and willing to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Im listening for a positive spin and a call to action we can run with. But, it seems that maybe he’s not that. I too am getting tired of his incessant negativity and ready to check out.

Martha Kehoe's avatar

There is only Hope where there is change ! The Democrats have been complicit in offering their best to the rich and powerful while pretending to be upright. So without criticism there will be continuity - we have progressed the capitalist journey to the point of breaking of all working people. There must be a change - same old - doesnt work so people like Waj keep the pressure on. If we backslide into the old " Democratic" way we have only watered down our cause to prolong the misery - change is not pleasant but it's necessary

Some situation don't call for pleasant- but rather for ongoing strength

DavidPageYea's avatar

Well said.

It's worth remembering history. The Republican Party used to be the party of progressives, while the Democratic Party was the official party of the old south and slaveowners. What caused the R's to flip so dramatically, you might ask? It was when Teddy Rosevelt's vice president betrayed the party and the nation so badly that Theodore started the Bull Moose party (to attempt unseating him next election). The true fighters went with Theodore; unfortunately BM failed (due to unfair election laws, not its appeal).

.

Of course, some stayed behind. Surely ones such as Pat and Sandra were among them. Such people didn't want to hear bad news... they wanted to remain part of a sinking ship, blindly supporting it no matter how bad it became. Their unwillingness to fight corruption made it easy enough for the oligarchs to take over the party. Today the word "republican" represents everything that's wrong with USA.

They aren’t worth your time. I know they aren’t worth mine. Besides didn’t millers family come from Germany during the war?

Soulkinetics's avatar

Miller’s family moved to America before the war, in 1903 and directly avoided the horrors that so many others faced. Sadly Miller, whose led a privileged life in the US, is a pathalogically obsessed sadistic, racist, nihilist, drunk on power and control.

Deborah solleveld's avatar

Sounds about right. I wonder how his parents are dealing with him.

James Rankin's avatar

They are none too pleased with him. His uncle recently gave a scathing rebuke of Miller & everything he stands for in an interview. Kind of the same type of relationship as RFK Jr has with his family & Paul Gosar has with his siblings. Reasonable family members tend to disown their nasty extremist political relatives.

Deborah solleveld's avatar

Thanks for filling us in. I feel sorry for his family.

DavidPageYea's avatar

I think you are giving Miller's extended family too much credit. The uncle once wrote an open letter criticizing him, but that way back during Trump's first presidency. Otherwise, he and rest of the family have been silent.

That's the info I got from a google search on this subject. If you've heard of any other cases of family protesting Steven, or family activism for progressive causes, please inform us. The Kennedys are famous for many instances of good activism over the decades since JFK and today express universal disgust with RFK Jr's behavior. The Millers seem no such animal.

James Rankin's avatar

You could be right, at least in general. I did just a few days ago watch a clip of an interview with Stephen's uncle that I assumed was recent, but it could've been from years ago for all I know. It wasn't the first time I had heard of criticism of Stephen by members of his family, but it hasn't been as relentless or involved as many family members as those from the families of RFK Jr. & Paul Gosar. Oh, by the way, Gosar has been unusually quiet this term (which is a good thing, I think). I wonder what's up with that.

DavidPageYea's avatar

I've heard about Gosar... he's the only case I've ever heard of in which a politician's original family (not Gosar's wife and kids, but those he grew up with) all publicly state that they're embarrassed to be related (RFK Jr is a similar case; however, he was never elected.).

I learned all the specifics I described regarding Miller through a simple Google search. It's telling about Miller's family that only the one uncle had public criticism, and that goes back a decade. (I read every progressive news source I can find and I'm fairly certain I would have heard about any other related news on Miller, since he's been at the top of the headlines in progressive news so much... and for good reason.).

I don't think they can think. I lost my job in part because I would not and could not vote for that clown. I live in a MAGa strong hold and I am a white women with a political science background. I've been expressing my views since 2015. I really think we have been taught to follow don't think. The ability to think or question has been lost. I truly worry about our future. (Out of curiosity have you actually been to Southern party we know how to cook js...).

Colly66's avatar

So true Genna, my dad always said question everything don't take things at face value. I was not from a religious family, does this make a difference? I do wonder about the rise in White Christian Nationalism (or most religions for that matter) taking away this ability to think and question? I guess its like brainwashing?

Genna Hall's avatar

I grew up in is very religious family, I am the outlier of the family. I am spiritual but not organized religion. The WCN you bring up is nothing but scary. In it I would have no rights and must obey my husband.(really not me) I think that the system is designed not for questioning but believe what your told. Look at MAGa they accept what was promised and how much of it has come true?

DavidPageYea's avatar

I consider myself Christian but I do not attend church. I am appalled at the success evangelicals have had at embarrassing the religion and I remind people daily that THEY AREN'T CHRISTIAN.
