Friends, I usually have a write-up, but pardon me, I’m just going to keep this brief and blunt.
Republicans are implementing Jim Crow 2.0 and mocking the majority as they openly enjoy the spoils of a rigged system that gives all the advantages to rich, conservative white men who want to recreate the Confederacy in the 21st century.
The Klan has been rebooted as MAGA, and the hoods have been replaced with red hats.
Let’s not mince words and worry about civility, hurt feelings, and economic anxiety. They’re coming after our freedoms, our voting rights, our cookies, and our milkshakes.
It’s new maps for me, but voter suppression for thee. Just look at what’s happening in Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, and Florida.
Today, the Virginia Supreme Court in a 4-3 decision ruled AGAINST the will of the people who voted for new maps. Republicans across the country are celebrating. Meanwhile, our Democratic leadership still believes it can play by the rules in an utterly rigged system. Just look at the message of Democrat Don Scott, who wrote, “We respect the decision of the Supreme Court of Virginia.”
You respect this decision? Why?
Then there’s Governor Abigail Spanberger, who promises nothing and instead asks Democrats to go and vote in the midterms, even though Republicans just showed them their votes mean nothing.
These Democrats aren’t built for this fight, and they are not made for this moment, as millions of us are literally trying to survive and protect the rights that our ancestors marched, bled, and fought for. To quote Bob Marley: “You will never find justice in a world where criminals make the rules.” — Bob Marley.”
It’s time for the majority, and Democrats, to be like Captain James T. Kirk and reprogram and win the rigged Kobiyashi Maru simulator test that was designed to be unwinnable. Use every creative lever at your disposal and fight against these racist fascists. If you’re unwilling, then step aside and make room for the rest of us.
