Go Woke and Hit the Oligarchy, And You Can Win Bigly

Democrats achieved their blue tsunami in part due to a historic turnout by voters of color, including former Trump supporters, who are rejecting the GOP's disastrous economic policies.

Donald Trump lost all of his 2024 Latino support.

He’s taken the Delorean back to 2016 with overreach on his disastrous economic trade wars and white nationalist immigration policies that have unleashed masked, armed men to terrorize American cities.

Trump’s unfavorability rating is in the 60s, and his approval ratings are hovering in the high 30s and likely to dip even further. The GOP’s billionaire bill arrives in 2026, which will gut Medicaid. Grocery prices remain high, the government is still shut down, and the Trump Administration just announced they’re reducing flights by 10% in key markets.

Everything is about to get worse for Republicans ahead of the midterms as Americans continue to suffer.

A screenshot of a web interface shows a filter map titled Filter map with 19 results and a search bar. It includes options to explore detailed breakdowns of votes by district for New Yorkers. The section By racial makeup displays four categories: Mostly white residents with Cuomo +14 in 895 precincts shown on a map; Mostly Asian residents with Mamdani +4 in 105 precincts; Mostly Black residents with Mamdani +26 in 479 precincts; Mostly Hispanic residents with Mamdani +20 in 438 precincts. Each category has a colored map overlay highlighting precincts.

Tuesday’s election was a sneak preview, according to Mike Madrid, co-founder of The Lincoln Project, who has been following Latino American voter trends for nearly 30 years. He’s the one who predicted that Latino voters would go back to 2016 numbers and is looking at the post-election data and predicting an utterly brutal 2026 midterms for Republicans who are on the verge of losing Georgia and North Carolina. Madrid also says the polls reveal the Democratic strategy of retaining “The blue wall” of the Rust Belt should be replaced by courting voters of color in Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and even parts of Texas.

Without voters of color, Democrats wouldn’t have achieved their blue tsunami yesterday. One could say, if you go woke, you win.

Mike joined me to discuss the numbers and data and trends, and how the majority can continue pushing for better economic policies and messaging that could improve lives, strengthen Democrats willing to take on the broligarchy, and weaken a white nationalist MAGA movement.
