Peter Thiel, the white nationalist billionaire and groomer of JD Vance, has long imagined the creation of “network states” run by tech oligarchs like himself, where “free cities” will be unbothered by anti-capitalist notions of democracy, rules-based order, and human rights.
These techno-utopias need land for them to seed and birth their fascist, decentralized nations where cryptocurrency reigns supreme, AI has replaced labor, and a surveillance state can ensure a docile, compliant population that will be grateful to be ruled by the new Gods who adhere to eugenics and white supremacy.
If all of this seems like bad, dystopian science fiction written by a horny, dorky high schooler, then clearly you haven’t been paying attention to the tech bros who have openly outlined their vision for the future. They’ve even attempted it with their “free city” Praxis, which has launched with less than successful results. They want to try to make it a reality in Greenland, and also loot the land of its resources and minerals in the process. This is something they’ve been dreaming about since 2019, even before Trump illegally invaded Venezuela, which they also want to loot, and announced he “needs” Greenland, which is not his to take.
In addition to the oil companies and war mongers who benefit from the military-industrial complex, the Silicon Valley tech bros are actively supporting Trump’s “Donroe Doctrine,” to further their supervillain plans for world domination. They want a weakened America that will allow them to carve up the world into different spheres of influence that will help them create their techno-fascist utopia before they leave Earth and repopulate humanity on Mars.
Again, all of this sounds like madness, and that’s because the world’s dumbest, most immoral people have all the money and are operating without any restraints, oversight, or accountability. Thankfully, journalists Jacob Silverman, author of Gilded Rage, and Gil Duran, editor of The Nerd Reich, have been following the oligarchs, the tech bros, and the money trail that leads directly to the Trump White House. Unfortunately, this isn’t bad science fiction. This is what’s happening in 2026 as the broligarchs are openly plotting to upend democracy and nation-states to satiate their own voracious appetites and imperialistic agendas.
