Bloomberg reported earlier today that the billionaire Epstein class is considering spending up to half a billion dollars to influence the upcoming California elections. Most of that money will be spent trying to buy Democrats who are allegedly “liberal” and fighting against Trump’s corruption.
Third Way, which is a consortium of corporate and centrist Democrats who want to keep the status quo, recently met with donors and elected officials, with their main goal being to defeat AOC. They are spooked by Mamdani and the emergence of a populist progressive message that wants to tax billionaires. They use terms like “leftist” as a pejorative and believe “Abolish ICE,” which is embraced by nearly 50% of Americans are too extreme.
AIPAC, the pro-Israel lobby group, continues spending obscene amounts of money against Democrats they deem disloyal to Israel. After barely achieving victory in NC-3 by defeating Nida Allam by less than a percentage point, they’ve turned their sights on Illinois, seeking to tilt the Democratic primary. They’re laundering their pro-Israel agenda through anodyne-sounding names like “Elect Chicago Women.” Many of the GOP billionaires who back AIPAC are also heavily invested in Crypto and sports gambling industries, which are also throwing money at Democrats to avoid regulations.
Vote blue no matter who, right?
Well, what happens if that Democrat is bought out by pro-AI and pro-Israel money and refuses to champion reform and instead parrots unpopular and harmful policies? This is why the next 7 months will not only be crucial to reforming the Democratic Party but will also be a generational opportunity to fundamentally reshape corrupt institutions.
