Data is the modern gold.
Billionaires and Silicon Valley companies want to hoover up as much of your data as possible. They want your search engine history, your passwords, your Social Security, your buying habits, your voting history, your health records, and everything in between.
With this data, they can gain ultimate control while rocketing towards trillionaire status. You can help authoritarian regimes create surveillance states. You can target “radical” influences that are a threat to power or find undesirable community members such as undocumented immigrants. You can even manipulate elections and sell our data to foreign countries and rogue actors.
Now imagine if you also captured media corporations, Hollywood studios, social media channels, local news, magazines, and all the algorithms. You can silence comedians you don’t like, such as Stephen Colbert, and punish pro-Palestinian voices in favor of elevating hacks such as Bari Weiss. You can sideline 60 Minutes investigations that offend the ruling regime and run interference for billionaires and Israel’s genocidal government.
Now imagine if you also capture political power. You can use your money to buy a compliant, corrupt President who treats the White House as his personal ATM. You can give $300 million and then bring your team of teenage incels to dismantle agencies that tried to investigate your business or engage in oversight.
You can also gobble up data and amass obscene power without any accountability or repercussions.
This is exactly what is happening with the Trump Administration. The offending billionaires are Elon Musk, Alex Karp of Palantir, Larry Ellison of Oracle, Bezos of Amazon, and, of course, the grand ghoul of them all, Peter Thiel. These modern-day supervillains were in the front row of Trump’s inauguration and also big-time donors to his “ballroom,” excuse me, bunker, which is being built to the tune of $1 billion.
Investigative journalist Audrey Handson has been following Ellison and these billionaire freaks for a while now. She recently stumbled upon a White House office without any oversight that has built a secret copy of the country’s voter registration website. It’s run by the same shady DOGE characters who were accessing federal databases without clearance, and it’s collecting data on Americans without anyone’s knowledge. Hanson refers to it as a “shadow infrastructure being built inside the Executive Office of the President,” and she connects all the players and the dots.
