“It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.”
That George Carlin quote echoes in my mind with every Epstein scandal revelation.
If they weren’t raping children themselves, they were fine overlooking the sins if it meant helping their bottom line. Some of them, like Peter Thiel, shared Epstein’s racist worldview and desire to dismantle the post WW2 order so they could enrich themselves from the chaos and usher in their white supremacist endgame.
These billionaires aren’t beholden to freedom, the rule of law, democracy, or human rights. They don’t care about Democrats or Republicans, or the left vs. the right. They ultimately care about themselves and escaping accountability. They currently give money to both sides of the aisle, and they’re banking on the broken system to bail them out and protect them from any oversight or retribution. There’s a reason why Gavin Newsom refuses to embrace taxing the billionaires, because he says they’re part of his “big tent.”
No, thank you.
I’m not interested in sharing a tent with people who profit from global misery, rape children, and destroy the Earth for their insatiable appetites. I’m also not interested in sharing the tent with people who continue funding supremacists abroad to commit a genocide against Palestinians.
It seems the majority, according to all the polls, is with me.
Last night, Anelilia Mejia, a progressive Latina who is pro-Palestine, anti-genocide, and firmly in the Abolish ICE camp, just won a shocker. If the numbers hold, she’ll be the Democratic candidate to replace Governor Sherrill’s seat in the affluent, suburban, allegedly “centrist” NJ-11 district.
This is a game-changer.
Mejia, like Mamdani and AOC, represents the future. The people want fighters who are promising generational change and a transformation of our broken institutions that benefit the elite. The Establishment guard simply wants restoration and continues to suck at the teat of corporate billionaires, many of them associated with Epstein.
I invited commentator, author, and host David Rotkopf, who was part of the Clinton Administration, to discuss why bold new fighters are needed and why we only have the next 10 months to usher in a generational change that might save us from disaster.
