MAGA: Make Apartheid Great Again

Apartheid 2.0? Elon Musk’s PayPal Broligarchy seeks to remake America like their beloved Apartheid childhood.

Elon Musk and the Paypal Broligarchy are attempting to make Apartheid great (again) in the United States of America.

After purchasing the presidency for $290 million, mere chump change for the richest man on Earth, Musk is running the show with his team of DOGE incels currently bulldozing through our government and defanging organizations that dare exercise some oversight and accountability over Musk’s corporations that received billions of tax-payer dollars.

Not content with doing Nazi salutes and transforming Twitter into the premiere hub for racists and white supremacist conspiracies, Musk and his fellow South African billionaire buddies, David Sacks and Peter Thiel, want to import Apartheid to our shores.

On Friday, Donald Trump, who is happy to be Musk’s minion, issued an executive order cutting financial assistance to South Africa. He seeks to punish the country for bringing a genocide case against Israel, which itself is practicing Apartheid against Palestinians in the occupied territories according to Amnesty International. This came a day after Trump endorsed the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and mused about the U.S. taking over the Gaza Strip to create a “Riviera of the Middle East.” In a hoods-off moment, Trump said he wants to “promote the resettlement of [white] Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination.”

If you’re keeping track, immigrants who come “from shithole countries” should “go back” to their countries, even if they’re citizens like The Squad, but white immigrants and refugees are welcomed. Trump’s order repeats the white supremacist conspiracy he told reporters earlier this week, in which he alleged, “Terrible things are happening in South Africa,” accusing President Ramaphosa of “taking away land, they’re confiscating land, and actually they’re doing things that are perhaps far worse than that.”

Like much of Trump’s statements, it’s all bullshit, but it is dangerous, reckless, and stems from the swamps of right-wing racists who promote “the replacement theory,” which posits that people of color and Jews have a diabolical plan to weaken and replace the white race. In reality, South Africa’s law allows land for expropriation with no compensation in rare circumstances and only with an agreement with the owner after going through the country’s independent courts. It does not target white citizens. In 2018, both Trump and Tucker Carlson repeated this lie and conspiracy, again promoted by white supremacists, to create a delusional upside-down in which the privileged white minority of South Africa was somehow being oppressed by the Black majority after the fall of Apartheid.

In 2025, Musk is running the show and has replaced human smegma Steve Bannon as the pre-eminent Jiminy Cricket for the aging convicted criminal and insurrectionist. Recall Musk did a Nazi salute, not once, but twice in front of an adoring MAGA crowd. Love for Nazis and white supremacy runs in the family. According to Musk’s father, his maternal grandparents, who admired Hitler, moved from Canada to South Africa because they were sympathetic to the Apartheid system of racial segregation with an all-white government that elevated the Afrikaaner minority above the non-white majority.

Along with his racist billionaire friends, Peter Thiel and David Sacks, Musk grew up in a privileged cocoon of misinformation and revisionist history in which they were taught that the Afrikaners were the actual victims in South Africa despite presiding over an apartheid regime. Before settling in California in 1977, Thiel and his family lived in South Africa and South West Africa. Thiel, a Paypal co-founder who groomed JD Vance, allegedly defended apartheid as “economically sound” as a student at Stanford according to a 2021 biography. Since then, Thiel, who is a major donor to Trump, has endorsed and met with white nationalists. David Sacks, who was named Trump’s AI and Crypto Czar, was PayPal’s COO and another major fundraiser for Trump. Like Thiel and Musk, Sacks also spent formative years in Apartheid South Africa and has blasted diversity initiatives and economic welfare programs. Both Thiel and Sacks co-authored an article against affirmative action while students at Stanford. A fourth member of the mafia, Roelof Botha, is the grandson of Pik Botha, the last foreign minister of the South African apartheid regime. Botha is a former PayPal CFO and remains close to Musk, overseeing his firm’s investments in Musk’s X and xAI.

You can take the broligarchy out of Apartheid, but you can’t take the Apartheid out of the broligarchy. Racism, like COVID, is contagious. On Wednesday, little Marco Rubio tweeted that he won’t be attending the G20 summit in Johannesburg alleging “South Africa is doing very bad things. Expropriating private property.” On Friday, Vance, the most shameless and pathetic Reek of them all, supported the rehiring of Marko Eliz, the 25-year-old DOGE minion who resigned after his racist posts were uncovered by the Wall Street Journal. Some of these gems included support for eugenics and Eliz’s desire to “normalize Indian hate.” It seems Vance is perfectly fine throwing his Indian American wife and biracial kids to the MAGA wolves as long as it’ll help him stay close to the Apartheid Broligarchy. Donald Trump, again bending the knee to Musk, vowed to rehire Eliz who has access to the Treasury Department’s financial data and classified information.

Unfortunately, these Apartheid Clydes are going to run into one, big problem: the rest of us, the majority, who aren’t going to bend the knee, kiss the ring, or go back to 1953. As far as the MAGA rubes are concerned, however, it’s time for them to update the acronym to MAKE AMERICA APARTHEID AGAIN.
