The Democratic Party needs to develop candidates and local organizations that can work full time for two years to win these seats.
The states where democrats currently rule like New York, Massachusetts, California, and others have rural areas that have a great deal in common with these seven states. Democrats from these states need to help by illustrating how they help rural voters in their own states. What policies and programs working now in rural New York or California can be brought to places like Iowa and the Dakotas? Democrats must provide rural voters success stories that they can touch and feel; prove that rural voters benefit when they are led by Democrats in government.
Democrats in rural states need antidotes to culture wars and Fox News.
Two words: Farm Bill. Farmers have been in the pocket of the republican party since Eisenhower, and no matter what atrocities they commit against them, no matter how many go bankrupt or have to sell out because of the GOP, they will never cease to vote against their own best interests, it seems!
Especially now that many rural areas are now cut off from local & "regular" news since PBS funding was cut & now it is mostly big city outlets w/ large pvt funding base that carry it
If folks have cell phone coverage, it’s sometimes possible to use them to pull in coverage, as many stations now have a station app. Same with public radio.
Can’t we totally start all new networks to stream movies? Isn’t that some of what we are doing with independent media news? I am already doing without mainstream TV or movie channels. I don’t have one. It isn’t because I don’t like movies. I love them. I am listening to books and short stories. It is because I started boycotting a ways back.
I could be wrong, but think it has to do with approval for licensing and regulation that the tRump regime hold over these corporations heads. But - of course - the regime is gutting most over-sight and regulations that protect consumers.

New Samsung smart TVs all default to Fox when you turn them on. It’s infuriating! I somehow fixed it on 1 tv but haven’t figured out how to do o it on our second. I can’t delete that icon from my home page either. I’m sure there’s a way, but the point is, I’m being forced to deal with it and it’s complicated. So many just wouldn’t try and there you have another Fox viewer. 🤬

Now we need to reach the other 98 percent of America who don't see informed independent media...I watch 3 PBS TV channels and one CBP radio channel in my area of Oregon on my antenna TV and I wonder why y'all and other independents are flocking to the multiple already-FCC-approved channels and making deals??? PBS was kicked to the curb last year but their fully licensed affiliated channels are OPEN and serving...let's make a deal! And it's free to America. Please consider!
