Outgoing Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas delivered the quote of the week today when he admitted, “There’s nothing we could do to rein in the president.”
Actually, as a member of Congress, there’s a lot he can do, such as NOT vote for Todd Blanche to be the Attorney General. However, Cornyn, who has nothing to lose, refuses to challenge Trump and MAGA, revealing that the entire GOP is now functioning as terrified cult members voluntarily bending both knees to their King and Daddy Trump. They are the Gimps from Pulp Fiction who enjoy the ritual humiliation and masochism.
They have made a Faustian bargain with the most corrupt, criminal President in history, and they will ride him all the way up, and all the way down.
I joined Jim Acosta today to discuss the numerous scandals plaguing the Trump Administration that are barely getting mentioned in corporate media. There’s Capitol One telling a federal judge they shut down Trump’s accounts after a review by their anti-money laundering unit. There’s Rep. Max Miller, who is still in Congress and in good standing with Republicans even after horrific allegations of spousal abuse. There’s Jeanine Pirro, who is almost on the outs with Trump because she couldn’t ignore the overwhelming evidence that proves the Reflecting Pool wasn’t “vandalized” but rather damaged due to incompetence.
As all of this is happening, the biggest news story is apparently PROGRESSIVES who are poised to win elections by advocating for popular economic policies. Oh, no! Abdul El-Sayed might win in Michigan! Francesca Hong might win in Wisconsin! Truly, are these the biggest scandals, or merely a reflection of a majority that is finally breaking ranks with the Establishment?
