Friends and readers of The Left Hook, thanks to your generous support and readership I am proud to announce we are entering our 5th month and our community is growing, nationally and globally, and receiving some positive attention in the “news.”

I originally started The Left Hook as a playground for myself and like-minded folks who were just utterly sick and tired of being gaslit by corporate media and establishment institutions who were unwilling or afraid to call out rising fascism, racism, and right-wing authoritarianism that was pointing “a rifle with 9 barrels” at our face and accusing us of being divisive and reactionary.

I assumed I’d write a few articles a week, but I didn’t anticipate the firehose of chaos and foolishness that would inspire me to write or publish on a near-daily basis. I also didn’t expect the level of love, support, and collaboration from colleagues.

As such, The Left Hook has become a growing outlet for thoughtful, informed, and passionate journalism and commentary. I have been lucky enough to interview brilliant subject matter experts, such as Timothy Snyder, Mallory McMorrow, Mehdi Hasan, Elie Mystal, James Fallows, Kevin Kruse, Asha Rangappa, and many others.

Because I am a terrible capitalist, I have kept every single piece of content for free and without a paywall. I believe the information is too important and people must be informed ahead of a consequential election and the long fight we have against authoritarianism.

Unfortunately, this means the majority of our readers subscribe for free. As The Left Hook grows, I’m investing more time and effort into the community.
