In addition to demonizing Renee Nicole Good in death, the Trump Administration is now engaged in a full cover-up of her murder, which includes attempting to investigate her wife for her alleged “activism.”
At least 10 federal prosecutors have now resigned from their positions due to the Justice Department’s push to investigate the widow of Renee Nicole Good and its unwillingness to prosecute Jonathan Ross, the murderer. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has accused Good of being a “domestic terrorist” who “weaponized” her car. Trump spread lies about Good running over the ICE shooter, even though we all saw the car never touch Ross. JD Vance said Ross has “absolute immunity” (he doesn’t) and disparaged Good as a “deranged leftist.”
If this is what the Trump Administration and ICE are doing to Renee Good, imagine how many people they’ve killed in the past. What else have they lied about? What else are they hiding? If they can murder unarmed, white moms with complete impunity, what makes you think you and your families aren’t next? ICE is operating like a lawless, violent, reckless agency that is accountable to no one and celebrates terrorizing women and people of color.
According to whistleblower and former Senior agent Jenn Budd, this is all part and parcel of the Customs and Border Patrol culture. The same cover-up protocol was unleashed in the 2010 murder of Anastasio Hernández-Rojas, an undocumented Mexican immigrant, who was killed while in custody at the border and surrounded by witnesses. The case is now the basis of an HBO documentary, Critical Incident, featuring Budd and other experts.
Budd joins The Left Hook to explain how ICE and CBP have a culture of violence and immunity that has been fostered by both Republicans and Democrats, who remain committed to funding agencies that are now terrorizing American citizens.
