Folks, we need more cracker barrels for the waterfall of MAGA tears.
Racism, manufactured outrage, and more authoritarianism are what Trump and MAGA have to offer, as their policies are destroying America’s economy, reputation, alliances, and health. Planes are going down, measles are going up, the U.S. currency is going down, the price of groceries is going up, and Trump’s approval rating has hit a new low.
These are some rough waters for MAGA.
But you wouldn’t know that if you tuned into right-wing media today. Currently, the trending topic for MAGA isn’t the fact that the National Guard has been unleashed in Washington, D.C., or that Donald Trump is threatening to eliminate mail-in voting, or that the economy is nose-diving. It’s Cracker Barrel.
Yup, the restaurant.
You see, the alleged “woke” female CEO of Cracker Barrel decided to go with a brand redesign by removing the white man and barrel from the logo. Banning books, saying slavery wasn’t that bad, and attempting to steal 5 House seats in Texas doesn’t cause any outrage over at Fox and right-wing media.
Nope - it’s Cracker Barrel.
For those who believe this is a distraction from the Epstein scandal and all the terrible poll numbers, they’re right. And it’s also part and parcel of the right-wing grievance movement that fuels their authoritarian agenda. All of this is a reboot of the same old story of white rage and greed that has now utterly destroyed this country from within. MAGA’s attempt to chokehold us back to the 19th century is, shockingly, unpopular, but they’ll try it by any violent, idiotic means necessary. For example, earlier tonight, the Washington Post reported that the Education Department is removing rules for teaching English learners. This is the same Administration that wants English to be the official language of America, so…it’s making it impossible for teachers to teach ESL kids…English. (White supremacy is so dumb.)
