I invited former Trump fixer Lev Parnas to unpack Trump’s next move — a plan to invoke the Insurrection Act and unleash red-state National Guards on blue cities. They are openly admitting the supervillain plot to bypass the courts and march towards martial law. Through the Insurrection Act, Trump can authorize the deployment of military forces and federalize the National Guard inside the United States to suppress civil disorder, insurrection, or rebellion. Stephen Miller is following the Nazi playbook, from rebooting Goebbels’ “The Storm is Coming” speech to openly searching for Reichstag fires to justify invoking martial law.
Also, the Epstein Files aren’t going away. Republicans would rather shut down the government than swear in Democrat Adelita Grijalva, who won her Arizona race and would give Congress the 218th vote to release the Epstein files. Earlier today, Trump didn’t rule out pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, who received a sweetheart deal behind closed doors and is now in a cushy minimum-security camp.
