I’m from rural Indiana, so in a sense I’m sympathetic to farmers, but never quite got how they thought it was ok that Trump wanted to eliminate farm workers/migrants.
Did they resent not being able to have them live in squalid shacks, need to pay them a living wage? Arguably no group has been screwed over by Trump more than farmers, but how did they not see this coming. The people one sees at Trump rallies will be eviscerated by loss of ACA subsidies which raises their insurance premiums. Loss of Medicaid which leads to closing of rural hospitals.
