Could you imagine what would happen if President Barack Hussein Obama accepted a luxury jet from Qatar, the same week he was bound to leave for a foreign trip to the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia?
How would corporate media and Republicans react if the same man who had to show his birth certificate and deny he was a practicing Muslim had allegedly dealt directly with Qatar and Hamas to release an American hostage in Gaza? It would be Def-Con 1, 24-7, non-stop cable news fodder and blazing headlines for years. After all, we remember the infamous “tan suit” controversy that embroiled a nation for a month. We also remember the countless hearings on Hunter Biden, his laptop, and business dealings with China.
Donald Trump wants to fly in a gold-plated, luxurious palace in the sky that is being “gifted” to him by Qatar while he’s telling your daughter that she shouldn’t be greedy and have more than two dolls. It’s lifestyles of the rich and famous for MAGA, and austerity and penny-pinching for the rest of us. Grifting, corruption, and tax cuts for the rich are how America will become great again.
Even though most Americans can’t afford eggs, Trump is auctioning access to himself to those willing to buy the Trump memecoin. He’s currently in Saudi Arabia alongside Elon Musk and other American billionaires, hoping to strike lucrative deals with killer and autocrat MBS. Throw in some open bribery from Qatar, UAE, and other foreign nations, and you’ll ensure a new Gilded Age for the broligarchy and kleptocrats by the end of the year.
In addition to being unethical, potentially illegal, and shameful, Trump selling out America is profoundly dangerous for our national security. This should be the headline for a month, but according to Rick Wilson, former Republican strategist and author, the corporate media will lose the plot and be distracted by next week.
