What Would Jesus Do During Trump's Second Administration? He'd Stand With Rev. Budde

MAGA's condemnation of Rev. Budde's call for mercy and kindness to immigrants reveals Republicans have betrayed Jesus and now officially worship Donald Trump as their Orange Calf.

If Jesus were resurrected today he’d be immediately canceled and attacked by MAGA for being a woke, DEI-hire libtard.

As a proud graduate of an all-boys Jesuit Catholic high school, I always enjoyed our religious studies courses where I, the sole Muslim, thoroughly dominated and received straight A’s much to the chagrin and pain of the priests. In addition to being studious, I enjoyed reading the Bible for the first time and learning about Christian values of social justice, “men for others,” and “agape,” which is a commitment to unconditional love and service. It was similar to the lessons we were taught about Jesus, who is a major prophet in Islam and was killed by hypocrites and tyrants for standing against injustice and standing for the poor, the marginalized, and the aggrieved.

The hypocrites of today who claim Jesus as their mascot wear suits and red ties. They attack police officers with mace, fire extinguishers, and American flags before invading the U.S. Capitol. They defend Pete Hegseth, a man whose own mother referred to him as a sexual abuser and who paid a woman he allegedly abused $50,000 to stay quiet because he was afraid it would harm his career. They laugh and applaud as their new Orange Calf within one week of ascending to the throne attacks immigrants and tries to end birthright citizenship, unleashes ICE in a cruel raid that led to the detention of a US veteran, erases the existence of transgender and non-binary people, mocks the suffering of millions of Americans who are now homeless due to a raging fire in California, promises retribution and pain towards his critics and doctors like Dr. Fauci who spent their life trying to cure the sick, and pardons the very same criminals who wanted to overthrow a peaceful election.

Irony is lost on them as they celebrate a convicted criminal who was held liable for sexual assault and who promised to save America from anger, anarchy, criminality, and corruption. He is their new Moses, according to Franklin Graham, who was shocked to learn that his new prophet’s assault on immigrants ended up harming the Christian refugees he had pledged to help. He is their “King,” according to Elon Musk, a man who just did a Nazi salute, and shares much of the ideology and beliefs with the man who quotes Hitler and who dined with Nick Fuentes, an admirer of the genocidal tyrant. He is the new “Daddy” of Tucker Carlson, a spokesman for white nationalist talking points. Instead of love and comfort, this abusive daddy will dispense a much-needed “spanking” to America. He is also the new “Daddy” of Rep. Byron Donalds, a grown Black man, who is willing to prostrate to this Orange Calf for the sake of material wealth and access to power even though his pathetic groveling has not allowed him to enter the White House as part of his Daddy’s cabinet.

In the absence of a petty, vindictive, vengeful “warrior Jesus” who will “own the libs” and engage in a 24-7 Festivus, these alleged Christians with family values have their avatar in Donald Trump, a man who incited a violent insurrection, has cheated on every single one of his wives, and said his personal Vietnam was avoiding STDs. When these “religious” MAGA Christian voters, who make up the most loyal part of Trump’s base, actually listen to a Christian who echoes the teachings of the Jesus I met in the Bible, they get triggered.

Rev. Marianne Budde reminded Donald Trump and his MAGA acolytes of Jesus who helped the poor, uplifted the marginalized, comforted the sick, and gave hope to those who only knew fear and terror. At the inaugural prayer service, she looked directly at Donald Trump and J.D. Vance and asked them to “have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now.” She said “the vast majority of immigrants and not criminals” but instead “good neighbors” and “faithful members” of religious communities.” She reminded Trump that “there are gay, lesbian, and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives.” For anyone who has cracked open a Bible or knows the bare minimum about Christianity, she was simply asking the President, who sells his own Bibles now, to act like Jesus.

Apparently, this was a sin according to MAGA who have spent the past week viciously attacking and degrading her. Trump called her a “Radical Left hard line Trump hater” and demanded she apologize for “her inappropriate statements.” To her credit, Rev. Budde said yesterday she will not apologize. All of this makes me think what would happen if Jesus lived today and did, you know, Jesus-like things like heal the sick, give food to the poor, live among the destitute, and warn the broligarchy that it’s easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter Heaven? He’d be canceled for being a woke socialist in favor of universal health care who doesn’t care about border security and instead wants to give welfare to lazy DEI hires and waste the government’s money that instead should go to cut taxes for the rich.

So, what would Jesus do?

He’d be woke and tell Christians to worship God by serving humanity instead of prostrating before an Orange Calf whose time will expire and whose memory will be condemned and mocked by those who are committed to decency and justice.
