We’re witnessing a reboot Weekend at Bernie’s with Mitch McConnell’s brain-dead corpse as the lead. The former GOP Senate leader is nowhere to be seen because, most likely, HE IS DEAD.
Republicans haven’t said a word about it, and Democrats are too busy punching progressives after the latest Platner scandal. But can you imagine what would happen if the shoe were on the other foot? MAGA would make this into a 24-7 outrage. Also, Donald Trump is falling asleep in Turkey and ranting about wanting Greenland, because that man is also clearly dying before our eyes, being held up by Diet Coke, racism, and Erdogan.
The double standards are obscene because we know how establishment media would have covered this if Joe Biden were to fall asleep daily in front of the cameras.
Meanwhile, Maine is trying to figure out how to move forward after a credible sexual assault allegation against Graham Platner. Thankfully, Bernie Sanders came out today and called on Platner to step aside, echoing Elizabeth Warren, Ro Khanna, and Zohran Mamdani. Clearly, he’s toast. But will Democrats, on all sides, learn the right lessons moving forward?
