Sit with that number for a second. In an absurd, self-destructive country, where millions believe Trump won an election he lost and others claim COVID-19 is a hoax, we have 86% agreeing on one issue. That number is even higher than the growing bipartisan revulsion against AI Data Centers and the failed, illegal war in Iran.
Ahead of midterm elections, you’d assume Democrats and Republicans would join Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie in making this a priority issue. Now, we know why Republicans won’t talk about it, and that’s because their King and Daddy Trump is all over the Epstein Files.
But what about Democrats?
If I were running, I’d say something like this with a grandiose, melodramatic voice: “Vote for me, and I’ll ensure that Congress uses all of its powers to hold these powerful predators and rapists accountable! The elite have used and abused their power for too long and are allowed to hide in the shadows. Well, we will shine a light on these criminals and ensure that justice will fall upon them like thunderous waterfalls!
Or something of that nature.
So, how come so few are doing it? Why isn’t the entirety of the Democratic Establishment echoing and promoting Senator Wyden’s demand that the DOJ immediately release the Epstein investigation document they illegally concealed? Why aren’t we following the money trail? Why is Ro Khanna the only one consistently saying that the Epstein Files should be one of the Democrats’ “highest priority” if they regain control of Congress? Why is Katie Phang suing for the release of the Epstein Files? Why is playwright Karen Malpede doing a benefit play to help subsidize Phang and the Public Integrity Project?
It’s because “The Town” protects its own. It’s a big, incestuous, international club connecting political leaders, financial institutions, academics, tech bros, philanthropists, billionaires, intelligence agencies, models, and the Trump White House. We’re seeing how this gang covers its tracks with the Cornell University gang rape cover-up. Check out today’s NYT:
Ellie Leonard and I discuss the complicity of power structures and institutions in burying the Epstein Files and slow walking accountability.
If you’re in NYC on Thursday (tonight) and Friday night, check us out at La MAMA Theater where we’ll be participating in the talkback after Karen Malpede’s play Epstein Oratorio or, A Modern Hymn to Demeter.
