AIPAC and its allies, which include pro-Trump, right-wing billionaires, are spending up to $50 million to support Democrat Haley Stevens and crush Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan. They spent over $30 million to crush Republican Thomas Massie. They spent over $25 million to crush Jamaal Bowman’s re-election campaign.
Democratic leaders, including Senator Chuck Schumer and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, are perfectly fine taking money from an organization whose allies continue attacking Democrats and progressives. On Tuesday, war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu will visit Donald Trump and seek confirmation that Israel will receive billions in US taxpayer dollars despite its ongoing genocide and occupation of Palestinians.
NDAA Section 219, which seeks to merge Israel and the U.S. military and remove oversight, passed in the House thanks to the vote of several “centrist” Democrats. All of this is perfectly acceptable for a Democratic Party whose voters have decidedly and repeatedly said they no longer support a blank check to an ethno-supremacist regime that is in a failed, illegal war with Iran. AIPAC’s supporters have now doubled down on their attacks against Zohran Mamdani and accuse him, and pretty much every critic of Israel’s policies, of being anti-semitic or pro-Hamas.
Again, why is any of this acceptable?
