ABC News bent the knee to Donald Trump’s vindictive lawsuit and not only compromised their journalistic integrity but also paved the way for future prosecutions and bullying against the rest of us.
$15M for the semantics b/w rape and sexual assault? Where's the defamation? Absolutely shameful that ABC and Stephanopoulos settled without a fight. Spineless cowards. The US president is not a king. I don't care what SCOTUS says. This thing merited nothing more than a clarification and CBS knows it. They didn't have a losing case. Judge Kaplan called it a rape and what the judge says is it. (A judge actually can overrule a jury if he or she sees fit.) And yes, CBS/Disney has made it worse for all of us. They haven't gained a thing. Trump will step on them too.

Waj, it is my personal belief that what the news media did was to sabotage the country. For that reason I think it is time to kick forcefully them to the curb. I cancelled NYT and WAPO subscriptions. Sadly, Trump and his Republican enablers and sycophants needed only about 25% of eligible voters to win the three branches of government, given those who didn’t bother to register or actually vote. The Nazis in Germany consolidated their power in 1933-34 with the backing of German industrialists. Fascism: Government and corporations working for their mutual benefit.
