Beautiful piece, especially this:

"One of the most powerful images for me was seeing Black men holding each other and representing the colors and flag of the United States of America, a country that continues to loathe and fear the very same people who have built this country and still try to save it from itself. This metaphor can extend to immigrants, people of color, women, and LGBTQ+, all communities who are attacked by Trump and MAGA and given two choices: “go back to where they came from” or shut up and be silent."

Terrific writing. I watched the half time show on Apple Music. And wow it blew me away. I salute Mr Lamar. Well done, sir. Please keep joyfully giving voice for us.

Great message from an intelligent articulate smart young man using the platform he has to exercise his First Amendment rights!

equality is a struggle. Judges weigh in and help often.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols on Friday, February 7, 2025, ordered Secretary of State Marco Rubio to:

reinstate 500 USAID workers

stop putting 2,200 USAID workers on administrative leave, and

stop recalling 1,400 USAID workers from overseas posts.

Nichols also pointed out that Trump’s own legal representatives could not and would not offer (risking perjury in court) a single piece of evidence to back up Trump’s USAID “corruption and fraud” claims.

Suffering extreme but typical “diarrhée verbale”, Trump has gurgling blowouts when “fermer la bouche” is indicated. Trump made up these accusations.

We will recover by following a known course of action. We will grow in numbers by gathering up the reformers within their party. We will grow numbers, diversity, and socioeconomic stratas. https://open.substack.com/pub/hotbuttons/p/krewe-kleptos-parade-route-psycho?r=3m1bs&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

Will Rubio or Trump abide by these orders? How to enforce them?

I understand that some orders by judges are being ignored by Trump, Musk et al.

We will not stand for courts to be ignored.

Whew, so much going on that it took me a minute to get back to this one. Thank you SO MUCH for this explanation and the video. I found both to be extremely informative because I had no clue who dude was, his beef with the other dude I don't know, and the symbolism of that halftime show. I was bored watching it because I didn't understand what was going on and I have a hard time understanding rap. My ears just aren't tuned for it, because I'm an old man whose heyday was long before rap came along.

Now I find Lamar a genius for what he did ... right in asshole's face and every white American who thinks we are tools to entertain them. Fuck that nonsense. We're also gonna educate you, whether you're aware of it or not. YOU GO, SIR KENDRICK! ✊🏿👊🏿

Waj, you insert your emotions into every word you write, and that makes you a star wordsmith! Thanks for this, and for all you do on the podcasts you add your luster to. Talk soon, Mister!
