Good recap

Now we know what Victor Orban said to him,

“We had no trouble with Trump as president.”

Flattery and favors for sale with Trump.

Quote from the Neiman report on the Orban’s crack down on the press, “They came to us after learning how Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, whom rightwing firebrand Steve Bannon once called “Trump before Trump,” has cracked down on the free press alongside other democratic institutions.

In a recent speech at a CPAC conference in Budapest, Orbán openly spoke about how reshaping the media has been one of the keys to his power. “Have your own media,” he recommended to the audience full of American conservatives, adding that programs like Tucker Carlson’s Fox show “should be broadcasted day and night.”

He will destroy the Constitution and the fabric of American if elected.

small point. If an illegal immigrant does happen to be in a US prison and transgender treatment is medically appropriate, then yes, that illegal immigrant can get it, just as a US citizen can. The law mandates prisoners be given medically necessary treatment. The chances, of course, that a random illegal immigrant lands in prison AND requires trans treatment are vanishingly small.

I LOVED Taylor Swift signing off as Childless Cat Lady.

YES I wish Harris would take a firmer stance on Gaza. She could at LEAST ask the question: "Israel has a right to defend itself [which I agree with]. But when does "defense" turn into something much darker? This is what the negotiations have to focus on. Is it "defense" when a member of government hopes to starve the Gazans so their land is open for Israeli settlement? Is it "defense" to allow settlers to attack Palestinians in the West Bank in their own homes? "

I would hope that raising such questions would at least give the Pro Israel folks some pause, at least in evaluating Netanyahu's pronouncements. Thais damn war has turned into "one side is right no matter what they do." For heaven's sake, that is rarely the case EVER.

I think very few people in the USA believe your quote that "one side is right no matter what they do." OTOH, there is still plenty of anger about Oct 7 and Hamas' use of hostages as a bargaining chip, and their use of hospitals/schools as refuges for their soldiers.

Perhaps. But the IDF has shown that they are perfectly capable of truly targeted attacks. They are not even trying to do that with their bombs, or anything to protect the civilians, who after all have no place else to BE now. The UN has estimated that actual “safe zones” are now 14% of the area of Gaza, which is just a bit larger than Seattle and has over 2 million people. Not to mention that the “safe zones” suddenly turn to “move again.”

Why isn’t at least some of the anger directed against the government that ignored clear warnings about the attack and actually moved troops AWAY from the Gaza border to help “protect” settlers in the West Bank? That’s what I mean by “both sides are rarely completely right.”

Kamala was disciplined and kept a clear head. Trump rambled off to crazy town out of the gate.

Kamala offered a vision for the future. Trump kept rehashing old petty grievances.

Kamala wants to uplift people. Trump wants to punch down.

Kamala was coherent. Trump was not.

Kamala removes orange stains. On a t-shirt here 👇🤣

I appreciate your analysis.

Regarding Swift’s endorsement - I hope she follows it up with actively encouraging her followers and others to take more action - to vote of course but also to take more interest in their community’s political infrastructure, to get involved from the ground up. Her influence is staggering and could be put to enormous good use beyond one intelligent and witty endorsement. (Signing off as a “childless cat lady” was an easy dig at Vance but also brilliant.)

The "Swifties" are already taking action. They organized their own "Swifties for Harris" zoom call, raising $140,000+ and over 34,000 participants, nearly two weeks ago. They didn't wait for her official endorsement. The kiddies are energised. They're civically engaged, smart and care about two big issues - climate change and abortion.

Perfect synopsis… Fugelsang just said, … Donald Trump sucked so much tonight that he paid himself hush money… hahahaha

Kamala won in the first 30 minutes and it got better from there. He looked like his mugshot and sounded like a lunatic. And he wouldn’t look in her direction like a petulant toddler.

Did anyone else catch his line about reading that Kamala “put out” when discussing that he also read that she turned black?

So unbelievable that I think I must have heard wrong….

I heard it too. She chose to take him down over some other idiotic statement, and he was too scared of her to try it again.

Thank you for writing the truth that corporate media won’t.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Democrats willingly shoulder the blame for inflation when it is so obviously due to the pandemic and Insane Clown's clownish response that bears full responsibility for the "long transitory" inflation that we are just now recovering from. Harris touched on it but she should have hammered Insane Clown again and again the way he hammered her again and again on illegal immigrants. Harris also touched on Insane Clown's $400M inheritance from Papa Trump and still he managed to go bankrupt 6 times but that was in a different context. She should have used that line of attack to great effect on the economy. Another missed opportunity when Insane Clown blamed his assassination attempt on his prosecution to remind how he was so amused when Pelosi's husband was attacked. The moderators did a good job fact checking but should have turned Insane Clown's microphone off when he talked over them. Harris was more compliant and that made her look weak.

Make no mistake I hate Insane Clown with a passion. When your opponent is a clown you win just by showing up. Kamala landed some punches but sadly I thought she should have done better. The CNN poll of debate watchers said she won the debate by a 2/3 margin. But those same respondents still give Insane Clown a 20 point margin on both the economy and border security. We will see shortly which way the national and battleground state polls go. I'm not optimistic but will be happy to be proven wrong.

I would have loved a small addition after she stated that her and Tim were gun owners and were not trying to take anyone’s guns away with, “We’re just trying to keep our children alive.”

Sorry didn't watch the shit show last nite. We all know Trump and his zanniness (you love it or you don't) and we all watched the coranation or Harris (queen for 4 maybe 8 years...enjoy.

the reason why I can't vote for either of them:

:the deep state trounching our civil liberties as we turn into a fascist state with either in power....if you ain't feeling it your senses have been ghosted as have many journalists and college students speaking out agains the deep state. *STFU I'm speaking*.

Our foreign policies of backing Isreali genocide of the Palestenian dyspora

and the NATO/USA proxie war being fought on Ukraiane/Russian soil. Both of which could have been avoided by 1. stop arming Israel preventing it from mowing the lawn and 2. our and NATOs styming the many opportunities for a peaceul settelment of the ukraine/russia conflict at a number of inflection points.

Both parties will champion the death star called USA MIC AIPAC

Hey, if you be cool with that vote in one of them and watch the continium continue. Enoy
