It's sadly predictable yet deeply unsettling to witness MSNBC's purge of progressive and diverse voices under the guise of 'ratings.' This racist and biased management decision is a blatant betrayal of their purported commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The silencing of voices like Joy Reid's, alongside other talented hosts of color, sends a clear message that MSNBC is prioritizing conformity over integrity and diverse perspectives.

It's infuriating to see networks like NBC cower to pressures and abandon their duty to represent all facets of the Democratic Party's base, especially during Black History Month. The sidelining of journalists and hosts who dared to challenge the status quo, whether on issues like the Gaza war or Trump's authoritarianism, underscores the network's shift towards a cowardly “safer”, less provocative narrative that appeases the establishment.

These are not just talented individuals; they are voices of reason and courage in today's media landscape. Their professionalism and commitment to truth-telling deserve recognition and respect, not marginalization.

I stand with Joy Reid, Tiffany Cross, Zerlina Maxwell, Katie Phang and others who have been sidelined. Their absence will be felt, but their impact and influence will endure. Let's hope they find new platforms that value their perspectives and continue to amplify their voices in the fight against injustice and misinformation.

This behavior by corporate media overlords is absolutely disgusting.

I’m supporting Meidas Touch Network-growing media that deals with facts & receipts and has spoken out loudly against this unacceptable behavior.

I’m hoping all that MSNBC doesn’t appreciate will now find a much better place outside the clearly censored mainstream media environment.

Ayman should be prime time! Ayman, Ali and Katie Phang are tops, as was Mehdi. Will miss Joy Reid and Alex Wagner (another woman of color). Can't believe they are leaving Katie Tur on air at all. She's awful. Jen Psaki was great as press secretary but extremely underwhelming as a show host to the point of being irritating.

Absolutely shameful racist behavior by MSNBC.

WHAT? This is insanity! Joy, Jonathan, Ayman and Katie are superb, eloquent, professional, credible and needed voices. Without them MSNBC is greatly weakened. I adore the extraordinary Rachel & Lawrence as well, Ali (who deserves a metal as he is consistently available when needed, an extraordinary force), Jen & more. I depend on all of these voices, at different times, to gain information and perspective; I have feel confident that I am receiving credible and trustworthy, professional news. We can stop watching the network, but then what happens to the rest of this network's excellent hosts? This is SHAMEFUL, Rebecca Kutler and powers that be at MSNBC, SHAMEFUL. Diversity is healthy and imperative for perspective! As if we do not have enough to be devastated about in this country at this time, we now suffer this unconscionable blow to news and truth. This is a tragic, offending mistake.

I expect them all to build a bigger audience on YouTube quickly.

So MSNBC is bending the knee to Donald Trump. I am totally disgusted. Mostly white people allowed. What a disappointment.

I trust the reporting of Rachel Maddow,Lawrence ODonnell and Jen Psaki and will continue to watch them. Would love to see all the excellent MSNBC staff join forces with Zeteo and Medius +. THEN I’ll stop watching MSNBC

Don’t bet on those three to comment negatively against their gravy train. Listen to Keith Olbermann’s podcast.

Rachel did comment negatively on tonight's show. Never bet against her.

Rachel called out the racism quite bluntly last night. Proud of her.

Well see what their shows look like tonight.

That's too cynical.

RM already took a pay cut and neither of them need the $. They're the good guys. KO is good too, but not cool enough.

I have trusted Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell, but to be trustworthy at this point they need to follow Jim Acosta’s example and leave their corporate overlords. Jen Psaki is too neoliberal - I am not a fan of the literally Soros-funded Pod Save America crew and friends

One of the best ‘call outs’ concerning the cancellation of Joy Reid and the 3 others. The shows that have the lowest ratings ,ie. The Beat, Morning Joe, Katie Tur, Chris Jansing are to be shows that should have been cut. MSNBC is flushing itself down the toilet. Another reason Substack is becoming more and more the go-to place for honest news.

I’m done some of my favorites are gone and of course I stick around for Rachel Maddow. Lord, what must she be thinking?

What kind of world is this old lady living in now? It’s so discouraging. I just as soon take the rainbow trip.

That Joe and Mika are still there says it all.

I have not watched them in ages. Too damn boring.

I just found out about Joy Reid yesterday, and now I find out from you that Aymen Mohyeldin, Katie Phang & Jonathan Capehart have been cancelled. Outrageous! This ceo has absolutely gutted & wrecked MSNBC. I loved these shows! Yup, sounds pretty racist to me & frankly unsettling. I will probably listen to Rachel Maddow, but the rest, no.

Perfectly Orwellian to hire a progressive to court progressives and then purge their progressives who happen to be black or non white. We need these good people to create their own media outlets, owned by the journalists not the oligarchs.

Moving rightward didn't help CNN, hasn't helped the Washington Post & won't help MSNBC. It hurts them, as fewer & fewer large media outlets are not right-wing. When all major media give just 1 narrow view of the world, ones that are different stand out & attract new viewers.

Already people on Substack are clamoring for Joy to join Substack, where she will undoubtedly quickly gain a huge following. The Meidas Touch Network is wooing her to join them. She will make out alright for sure, just like Mehdi Hasan, & probably be stronger than ever (hopefully).

I am an old white guy who loves Joy Reed. She was one of the few voices in broadcasting that showed us why black lives matter. I am losing faith in MSNBC.

I admit I'm an isolated white, female 71-year-old and at this stage in life, it's hard to make friends of any stripe. So in the past, I've relied on MSNBC to present a wide, wide divergence of commentary and opinions from persons I would otherwise not have the opportunity to hear from. It's not a two-way interaction, but I've greatly enjoyed hearing the input and commentary of Joy Reid, Mehdi Hasan, Katie Phang, Ayman, and so many, many more contributors. I'm saddened by the changes coming to MSNBC, which I no longer really watch. But I'm heartened at having found community here at Substack.

MSNBC is 1/3 funded by Big pharma, which you can verify by counting ads. so it's been hard for them to explain the opioid pandemic truthfully. For example.

Americans feel gaslighting and lose trust.
