Substack and podcasts are already supplanting the MSM because people are now living on their phones and laptops. I know many young adults who don't own TVs or read newspapers because their phones allow them to travel light, so we should be strategizing on how to make internet media more intense and appealing and more intensely truthful. Older media is on life support.

My worry is crucial investigative reporting. Pro-publica can’t do it alone so I still subscribe to the NYT and the Post as well as supporting them.

Frontline on Public TV has always been good though sometimes late to the game, but the GOP wants to cancel government funding because they think Frontline is an arm of the DNC. I fear the news is going to become very fragmented so that any shared reality becomes kaliedoscopic. Even AI won't be able to integrate it.

Maybe Waj or Brian should look into the funding structure for the Philadelphia Inquirer. That paper covered the election truthfully. The background is interesting too (involving a tragic plane crash that left a wealthy philanthropist in charge of a paper he did not want to run).
