Trump’s Project 2025, the conservative blueprint for a right-wing authoritarian movement, has finally gone mainstream as more Americans are aware of its extremist plan to dismantle our democratic institutions. Apparently, a majority of Americans don’t like losing their rights. Shocking.
Trump has tried to disavow his connections to the endeavor which has his fingerprints all over it. A book written by Kevin Roberts, the President of Heritage Foundation which is the main conservative group behind Project 2025, was pushed back until after the election. The forward of that book is written by none other than Trump’s VP J.D. Vance.
Just a coincidence I’m sure.
Media Matters For America Vice President Julie Millican’s got her hands on an advance copy of the book, and she joins me to warn that Project 2025 is not just confined to whether Trump wins in November. Project 2025 is already in play at the state and local level where Republicans hold power and represents the mindset and ideology of the entire GOP. She also discusses the violent rhetoric espoused by Project 2025’s leadership which is echoed by Donald Trump and represents a very real threat to our democracy, election and institutions.
