It’s never a good idea to allow disease/ infections to spread. There are many immunocompromised individuals who are kept safe due to community immunity. RFK jr is what we call in the medical community bat-shit crazy. Latches onto to meaningless or misinformation literature. The sewage system/ water treatment and vaccines are what allowed lifespans to achieve 8 decades.

Exactly. My daughter is a liver transplant recipient and is immuno-suppressed. Also, think of our elders. Alas.

I’ve spoken to Obgyn residents that told me they’re avoiding the south for practice due to the increased liabilities, so eventually there will be no obgyn specialists in these areas..but I guess they don’t care either.

My wife, a family health doctor, says the same. It's going to be all bad.

As I was stunned to learn of Trump's cabinet and other choices, it occurred to me: What self-respecting, competent person would agree to serve under this bad joke?

Imagine the outrage if even one man died because of such a backward policy . Who would ever have thought America would become so backward.

Will someone please initiate an investigation into the dominion voting machine tampering. Honest to god, there are moments when doing something the gop insisted upon in the past is actually warranted by the Dems. Trump and his greedy power crazed sociopaths demonstrate that they are cruel nasty liars and cheaters at every step.

I don’t understand the people of Texas voting Cruz, Abbott and republicans back into office. I understand there is voter suppression but this was a state wide vote.

I guess not enough women have died to make the majority give a damn.

I so appreciate your outrage Waj! I’m tired of polite discourse. Outrage on behalf of the “client” gives permission to truly feel our feelings. Honestly chewing on our personal outrage hopefully means we can chew on it until we have the energy we need to use it as fuel. (Outrage is not the same as anger—feel into that!)

But first ….today…after the Jack Smith and NY courts announcements…..deep, deep sadness needs to have its day.

Thank you for your warrior sensibility.

Fingers crossed Trump gets measles or something

We are seniors and my husband has some major health issues, we worry about lack of vaccines and the infectious disease component to RFKjr. We have a 6 month old grandson who needs vaccines and worry about what may come down the pike. RFKjr is a total nut job.

They want to make death great again, I want to make life great again!

While I doubt that even RFKJ will actively BAN vaccines, he may well come down on school districts--or the military--for requiring them. And that's enough to start the slide into polio, measles, etc--if not dead, crippled or blind children. Those would be both the "unvaccinated by choice" and far more important, those who for various medical reasons can't tolerate a particular vaccine. Herd immunity IS a thing, but not in the way anti-vaxers think of it.

I had a friend who was a Covid antivaxxer but perfectly fine to get her international ones for a big trip through Southeast Asia

Figure that one out

way way back in the early 70s my roommates and I worked at a natural foods store and restaurant. The big deal then was drinking raw milk. I never did drink raw cow's milk. later in 80s my newly weaned 2 yr old was allergic to cow's milk. So, we found a farm that sold us raw goat's milk. My son did not have any issues. But he never got over the allergy to cow's milk. But I digress. The point I want to make is that as manager of this natural, organic restaurant in the 70s the clientele was the unhealthiest, most cantankerous bunch of people I ever met. They complained if a piece of fruit garnish was anywhere near the entree, or that the sprouted bread wasn't crunchy enough. Drove me mad. I try to eat healthy and local sourced, but this "new" raw milk thing is so so weird. I say let them drink it. Finding out will be interesting.

but if they get bird flu and then spread it and people aren't vaccinated...

I just found out recently about the massively cruel way they dispatch the diseased warehouses full of these already tortured animals - they close it up and turn up the heat and they die a horrible death from hyperthermia

Growing up close to a farm, 70s, we would buy fresh milk from the farmers. It was only because it was convenient. My uncle had goats and they used their milk for butter. But these animals weren't around any pesticides or hormones. I can't imagine buying "raw" milk at the store. It would scare the crap out of me.
