Wow. That's one of the most succinct, fact-filled, poetic and powerful take-downs of Donald that I have ever read. Nice work.

After what he, maga, and the gop have done to many millions in US and overseas, no apology is needed for determining not to offer "rest in peace". In addition, that spares you the moral cost of hypocrisy.

I subscribed. This post is that good, and it's saying what the news media might be thinking but hasn't the nerve to say.

I knew Trump's star was fading when that "assassination attempt" dropped out of the news cycle in less than a week. Most of us aren't fools enough to believe there was any wound under that bandage. And he's so far off the rails these days that he's too crazy to even be amusing.

Yeah I followed Ali back when I was on Twitter. His longform writing is fire and so I followed him here as soon as I learned he has a stack.

Whew this was so cathartic to read. . .. my sense was subtly creeping towards this awareness. Absolutely lovely to read your incredible wrap on what is taking place, and have my hopeful perception validated so succinctly. Let’s do this . . . . This country belongs to all of us. Beautiful writing.

This is a great article & I agree, but Trump is a mere puppet. He has had appeal to bring in votes only; obviously, that appeal is waning along with his spotlight. The puppeteers (aka marionettists) are still working hard on their mission behind the scenes & behind Trump’s back. Trump was never the brains of the Republican take-over America operation. Project 25 has been written & fine-tuned & is a wet dream for those puppeteers who dream only of control & money & power. The Big American Coup! It has been in process of development & testing for the past 40-50+years. There are many who are drooling & foaming at the mouth to take Trump’s place. There will be no tears an either political side when Trump is gone. You might start with Trump’s VP pick in the 2024 election. Evil always rises to the occasion. The beat goes on! …

The MAGA party doesn't have another useful idiot ready to take Trump's place. Little did they know he'd start seriously losing his shit 2 months before election day.

Question for everyone - how far down in the polls will Donnie Two Scoops need to be before the GOP starts to question having him as their leader? Trump could still be boring as long as he was a "winner," but being a bore AND a loser is something no MAGA can stomach.

Perhaps after sentencing? C'mon, September!

Yes, the RepubliKKKans should be forced to carry him to term, even if it endangers the life of the party.

Having Trump as their nominee in 2024 is purely a case of "be careful what you ask for, you might just get it." I think Project 2025 is what's going to bring him down, along with his age and his obvious dementia.

I don't think I've ever read a sentence more well crafted!

"He has devolved into a Las Vegas cover band that has overstayed its welcome and can now only play to the cheap seats in the swarthy back alleys of a dimly lit club that caters to a desperate assembly of inebriated vagabonds who are looking for cheap thrills and cheaper drinks."

Wow - you are a really good writer, Waj!! Your article was of a view that was so very true and so well said in its entirely! I'm getting my money's worth from your Substack and I'm grateful to have found out about it on Mary and the Nerds! Take care. Be well.

I really liked when you shared your family's Leggos achievements a few years back. Also like your more recent interview segments where you are so self effacing it is funny, even when the topics are life and death, for democracy or for the adverse outcomes of US policy. Whatever anyone may say about the mistakes driven by Netanyahu's far right war cabinet, the death tolls they have engendered have been too high for them not to have a very long lasting reach. Trump really hit bottom sometime earlier and just remains there trolling like a dredge in the muck year after year.

I am cautiously optimistic about that, but come on, his most ardent supporters and everyone else in the world has had ample opportunities to see what a pathetic excuse for a human being he is, and so many of them remain unshaken. He has the SCOTUS and the Speaker of the House (himself hardly an intellectual giant) trembling. 🙄

His most ardent supporters have not. They do not read newspapers they only get information from Faux, News Max and other propaganda sources. If they watch the debate it would be the first time many of them have been exposed to his lunacy.

I know he hopes to feed off of Corey Lewandowski, and Wiles and LaCivita will be sorely tried by the arrangement. I trust Corey will not be able to bring him back to life. A more stable hand—perhaps that of alternate facts Kelkyanne might have done a more reliable job. I also think the media has managed whether accidentally or on purpose to hide Trump’s decline from view.

And when will we see him taken to court over the recording artists he plays without permission? Anyone else would be in serious trouble for breaching copyright. And it seems his little chat with Musk may actually count as an in-kind donation. Yes Donald, it is time to pay up and move on.

The royalties for all breaches of copyright and the images of Taylor Swift could be costly. I suppose because Swift was AI generated that might be difficult to sort out. But the use of Beyoncé’s song and Celine Dion and the Foo Fighters—it will be a lot!
