Dear Waj, I want to help you out even though I am poor AF after spending ALL my money and resources (home, 2 pension funds, and in the end, my car). This in the US is called “medical bankruptcy and yes it’s shameful. But I needed to do it to save my life. I even had an organ transplant. Really. I am bombarded daily by requests for “just a little here, little there. BUT you bring me value and inspiration with your words and true heartedness

It has been said (source?) that when you refuse to ask for help you refuse someone the chance to be helpful. For quite some time I have so appreciated your insightful, on-point, bold, clever, clearly expressed posts on IG and Twitter/X. What a great encouragement you have been and continue to be! Here’s my situation - it’s kind of similar to Dana Bennett’s. I’ve had 16 surgeries in the last 20 months w/3 to go up to Dec 1st. Every penny I have (on my veteran’s disability income) has gone for what the VA won’t cover - transportation & medical supplies. Plus a few can’t-put-off-any-longer house repairs. This is why I haven’t subscribed financially. Yet.
I will on my next payday, October 1st. You have my word on that.
Your work is excellent, thought-provoking & very much needed. I am happy to support that as soon as I can.
