I am a university educator, I value creativity, etc., but I recognize that kids benefit when they respect their elders. They need to learn from older generations.
The chicken and egg may be reversed here. Surely those with authoritarian-leaning folks seek out “strongmen” like Trump. (See Anne Nelson.) I put some of this down to a lack of education. A real understanding of Hitler and Stalin they might develop some hesitation in that view. Our schools teach less and less of a substantive nature. And lots of poorer students in particular leave school as soon as possible.

It is interesting that the Right will fight if Trump doesn’t win. The left just plans to decamp to other countries if he wins.
