I'm in the midst of drafting a letter to John Thune reminding him of the Senate's role to advise and consent and that ceding their responsibility makes them irrelevant backbenchers. Their legacy will be one of failing to remove the cash pillow that's smothering democracy. I think Thune may have presidential ambitions that might be moved by numerous such letters to him.
