At 96, Noam Chomsky has a new book and is back on the interview trail. He still thinks and talks with both clarity and hope. I don't know what the future holds for the US and the world, but other people in other countries have gone through worse and came through it. And I see no point in giving in or giving up.
I told my wife I’m not giving up without a fight. We still have the Constitution and the Rule of Law, so Trump and the Republic Fascist Party can kiss my ass.
We need to shame the hate. I just wrote letters to my US senator and representative (both Republicans) telling them I have never been so ashamed to be an American. I listed specific evil things that I see Trump and his troops do and talked about how that's now who we are. Those politicians know better and they need to read letters (not emails, but paper letters. Give them something they can hold in their hands) from constituents who know they know better. This country will be seen as a fool on the world stage and in history and these Republicans are responsible for that. They need to fix it.
Please stop referring to people "bending the knee" to Trump or "kissing the ring." Bending the knee implies a mutual undertaking of obligations between lord and vassal, but there is nothing mutual in any relationship with Trump. People bend both knees before Trump and suck the cock. Hock thuah, they abase themselves in hope of avoiding his abuse. Truly pathetic. Home of the brave and land of the free? Not any more.
