I’m so sorry, Waj. I’ve become a huge fan of you and Danielle, and I’m crushed and disappointed that this IS who we are. At least half of us are racist, misogynist, and overwhelmingly stupid. I’m absolutely gutted. This feels much worse than Hilary because we KNOW what he is, and yet more people voted for him than in 2016. It looks like half the country will have to learn the hard way, but I fear for our country and the rest of the world. Thank you for everything you’ve done. 💙

The other half will be going through the wringer too.

You folks absolutely refuse to self reflect. Just bc more than half the country, including all race’s nationalities and classes voted with Trump we are not racist. Trump did not give American $5 gas, $7 butter, open borders and two wars. I could go on and on. Biden caused that. Own it and reflect or continue acting insane as most Democrats follow your lead. We care about the fact that you seem to be hurting. The difference is that we seem to care more about America. The door is always open, it’s up to you to step through. Just once, look in the mirror as you grieve and say you’re sorry for punishing us all.

You owe none of us an apology. You had hope. It did not pan out. That’s all. You did nothing wrong and no apology is necessary. We will go forward together.

Not if they don’t reflect and acknowledge the truth. They will remain angry, some will even start burning their own neighborhoods. The behavior of the Left is predictable insanity until they look in the mirror. Just ask Candice Owens and many others who have awakened to the Truth about what they were and what is possible.

Trump's election is an abomination and an indictment on the intelligence and morality of a vast number of the American population. That number includes many migrants who have benefitted from life in America and now turned on their own. It includes church-goers who profess to believe in love and compassion and understanding - of which Trump has none. It includes a massive base of blue-collar and lower paid workers, the very same that Trump has exploited in his own projects and for whose welfare he actually he has no welfare.

Worst of all, this election has shown the USA to be unfit to lead the 'Free world' or to merit its status as a democratic, fair and judicial nation.

Trump is a perversion, a narcissist, a convicted felon, an abuser and demeaner of women, a convicted sexual assaulter, an avowed friend of America's greatest enemies: Putin and Kim jong un, and a convicted felon who has even said publicly that the Constitution should be ripped up, as well as that he could walk down main street and shoot people and no one would bat an eye.

Trump should never have been allowed on the ballot. That he was, particularly after his perfidy during his first office and then his gutter assaults on his opponents since, as well as his convictions and stacking of the judiciary, is evidence that the USA political system is deeply flawed and that its proponents have lost the plot.

I can only conclude that the USA has a mjority of ignorant, infantile, selfish, immoral and moronic individuals who don't even deserve a vote until such time as they are capable of reasoning beyond that of a 5 year old - i.e. "I'll run to whoever appears to offer me the most sweeties" - What happens to them - we all know, they become victims of exploitation and all manner of abuse, even death.

And death is what this election has brought. The death of any claim the USA has to being a democratic nation with an equitable rule of law, a welcoming of all as symbolised by the Statue of Liberty, and the Land of the Brave and Home of the Free.

How free, I wonder, do the women whose bodies he will tell them what to do with and the long term immigrants, legal or otherwise who have and contribute so much to the American economy and society.

This election has not just been a travesty - it ought to represent cause for civil war, because immorality, fraud, lies, perjury, prejudice, injustice are the hallmark of Donald Trump and have no place in the Oval Office.

Perfectly stated, sadly. And every single one of his court cases, and those of his enablers in a coup, will disappear. He will never be held accountable for any of his crimes. And neither will his co-conspirators. His SC will continue to shred our constitution. We are no longer a nation of freedom. We are a clone now of Hungary and Russia.

The coup is now complete.

I’m so ashamed of the American voter right now. The media has gone silent with shock. I can only imagine what four years of this will mean with the world in such turmoil. There is no steady hand on the tiller. Blatant corruption and ignorance with a broken judicial system! I’m so very afraid 😱

Focus on local engagement and local government. In what you think needs be done. Let the Trump administration rise or fail. Stand up for what true, compassionate and fair and against injustice.

This a fuck-all full out psychopathic nightmare. I commend you, Waj, for your courage, dedication and authentic communication no matter how difficult it is to know that what you believed and your upstanding voice continues to say. It’s not a crime to fail of your deeply held conviction and belief that the y in our path went the wrong direction. I have agreed and sparred on a similar path as you. Different experiences led me to the same feelings and beliefs that I have come to hold strongly.

I’ve only recently gained my voice after years of suppression and silence. I’m absolutely sick of the abundance of self-entitled people, from all walks of life, that are so significantly impaired that they can’t see beyond their noses.

This whole situation and loss of basic decency in our country deviates greatly from my perspective.

IMO You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You’ve done the right thing doing what you do best- YOU🤩

Could you please give some thought to not using photos of trump in your articles? We all know what he looks like. Having to look at his mocking, hate-filled, jeering face is an insult to every survivor of sexual assault and to everyone who wanted better for our country. It may seem an odd request since we all know his photo will be plastered everywhere from now on but even one place without it would be a blessing and a relief.

I hope Rs suffer deeply, all the maggat morons, truly. I do not care that grocery and gas prices will soar, let them eat dirt. I’ll continue to grow and can what little I can/have. Thousands will starve, die, maybe as many that did of Covid. He’ll do nothing. Nothing. He’ll shut everything down, full stop.

McConnell is to blame, as is the SCROTUS6.

Rs at some of his rallies said “maybe we need a change, a dictatorship”, “Putin treats his people well.” May they all suffer 1000% fold more than we will. And we will.

Change sure as hell is coming. I pray, truly they suffer the most. Musk “I’ll cut $3T from the govt, it’ll be painful.” It sure as hell will.

WTH happens between now and 1/20/2025? I just turned 70. Waited this month to claim SS, will I even get 2 months worth before he/Congress steals it all?

I collect SS(DI) for MS and would like to know who & how many the ‘some’ is, in ‘Elan’s, ‘some will experience hardship’? I pray he doesn’t touch SS and Medicare, but why wouldn’t he?

Expand full comment

No doubt in my mind, he will cut SS and Medicare. They have been talking about it for months. Their plan is to make us have hardships for a while. Not the wealth but the rest of us. This is who America has voted for, and I hope they enjoy the turmoil.

Yes, they’ve actually been talking about it for years, don’t know where my brain is right now.

They’ve already said, it’s in project 2025, Medicare, Medicaid will be privatized, and SS taken away. He’s lied when he said he won’t touch them. SS is my hard earned, albeit low wage, money. HTH can they take it?

Yes, how could I forget Project 2025! My mind is certainly clouded right now.

I will resist. I will break unjust laws to do it. I will protect immigrants, help women from other states access reproductive health care, fight so-called “Christians” of they attempt to impose their faith on us. The resistance is now. We are already organizing.

I don't know what to tell my son. How do I explain how terrible things could get and not scare him? Something just feels so very wrong about these results without stating the obvious. I don't know my country at all. I'm naive and was far too optimistic that Americans would chose normal. The old world or whatever has died. We are entering a new world with a rising tide of fascism worldwide.

Thanks for being so gracious in defeat. The fight against abusers of power in all walks of life is an eternal one. With MAGA seemingly now set to take over the entire US Federal government structures we will see them all crumble. As you correctly noted MAGA GOP can not govern. They are power greedy types so they also cannot work as a team. It is only a short matter of time before they are at each other’s throats.

The ensuing social and economic chaos will turbo charge movements for social renewal.

Holdfast.

Not sure if I am breathing…

Horrifying, this country that has called itself the light upon the hill, buried itself and deluded itself under the guise of American exceptionalism, has had its face thrown in the mud to finally see what it’s depravity has wrought upon us.

I love you, Waj, keep on doing what you’re doing

If anyone complains to you about high prices, high income taxes, out-of-reach housing, being refused coverage for pre-existing conditions or that their Medicare or Social Security has gone, or are surprised that women keep dying due to being refused health care, or (and you can keep filling in the blanks) ask them if they voted for Kamala Harris. If they say "no," tell them not to whine to you. They were warned.
