White Christian Nationalism like any sickly nationalism Is the result of mass insecurity caused by grotesque inequality caused by the neoliberal policies of corporate Democrats and corporate Republicans. Erich Fromm described such insecurity led to the fascism of Nazi Germany and the fascist threat to America in his 1941 book Escape from Freedom and later in The Sane Society.

Clinton, Bush and Obama’s 24 years of neoliberal policies caused the gross inequality/insecurity that led to Trump.

Kamala's neoliberal policies supported by billionaire donors will lead to future fascists like horrible possibility of a President Vance. Neoliberalism is the evil that causes fascism today. Going after Neoliberalism and neocon thinking is the way to defeat fascism and work towards a fair more secure less reactionary society

I start watching and then realized how much work and research was put into it.

This is a must watch for anyone who’s interested in learning how this country might self distract.

Thank you and great job Kat!

Fascinating stuff. I will be sure to check out Kat's work and it's great to see yet another female journalist (and a Gen Z youngster) have her work featured. I've certainly heard the term "cognitive dissonance" bandied about when talking about MAGA, Donald and Christian Nationalists. Seems like a pre-requisite. 🤨

Don’t care for the characterization of ‘White’ Christian Nationalism. although admittedly Christian Nationalism is predominantly represented by white evangelicals. I don’t think any mention of race is relevant. Any religious group, regardless of race, in support of establishing a Church state or theocracy is dangerous and a threat to anyone not aligned with group.

My friend, when opposition to anyone who is NOT white is a defining feature, mentioning race is absolutely essential. We white folks (I'm white) are very unaccustomed to our whiteness being racialized and called out, but we have (collectively) spent hundreds of years reminding everyone who isn't white that they aren't white and implementing laws and systems to ensure they never forget it. The whiteness matters just as much as the Christianity and the nationalism. You don't see very many Black Christian Nationalists, Hispanic Christian Nationalists, or Asian Christian Nationalists in this country, do you? There's a reason for that. It's about power -- those who have it and are terrified of losing it.
