Trump’s Racism Is Going To Get Us Killed

Donald Trump is a racist. He doesn’t suffer from racial trip ups or racial slip-ups or racial flare-ups or racially insensitive language or economic anxiety. He is a racist. 100%, pure, organic, homegrown, freshly squeezed from the filthy, hateful, putrid fruit of American White Supremacy type of racist. It’s in his bones, his heart, his blood, his marrow, the core of his festering corrosive black hole that barely resembles what once was a soul.
As a brown-skinned Muslim man and son of immigrants who come from “shit hole countries,” I don’t have the time, privilege or luxury of many of my white corporate media colleagues to play Taboo and sanewash Trump’s clear and convincing history of bigotry. This is the same man who ran his 2016 campaign on a Muslim Ban and said,“I think Islam hates us.” Anti-Muslim bigotry and Islamophobia have become so normalized that CNN anchors can openly smear the only Palestinian American Congresswoman for an entire day without any real pushback and a sitting Republican Senator can accuse an Arab American leader of supporting terrorism without censure.
Trump’s base sees my people as “invaders” who are apparently coming in a “caravan” along with other migrants to replace white people. However, the Muslim bogeyman has been temporarily replaced with Haitian immigrants. It’s the same playbook, and the hate affects all of us.
Because it will be forgotten by Friday, I have to use my ink and space to remind everyone that on Monday, Donald Trump, a twice impeached criminal running to be President, told his adoring cult in Pennsylvania his solution for the manufactured Haitian immigrant problem: “The fact is, and I’ll say it now, you have to get ‘em the hell out, you have to get ‘em out, I’m sorry. Get ‘em out. Can’t have it. Can’t have it. They have destroyed [Springfield, Ohio.] Instead of being outraged and disgusted, his crowd of fellow racists ate it up and chanted, “Send them back.”
This is after law enforcement, community officials, and Haitian residents of Springfield have said their community has faced terror threats and harassment resulting in the closing of public schools and city hall. This is after the Wall Street Journal, that bastion of woke lefty commentary, reported that Trump and his team knew the hateful lie of Haitians eating pets was a debunked conspiracy but they insisted on promoting it. Why? Because Trump is a racist. This is who he is. This anti-Black hate is his normal. The New York Times has an informative piece about Trump’s rich history of bigotry against Haitian immigrants. At one point during his presidency he proclaimed they “all have AIDS.”
Unfortunately, the rot contaminates the entire GOP. Earlier today, Rep. Clay Higgins posted the following in a now deleted tweet: “Lol. These Haitians are wild. Eating pets, vudu, nastiest country in the western hemisphere, cults, slapstick gangsters… but damned if they don’t feel all sophisticated now, filing charges against our President and VP.” This is the type of racist, drunken shit I imagine these good ol’ boys say behind closed doors while drinking bourbon but even a politician knows not to publicly post it. But in 2024, Republican candidates know they will be rewarded for their racism. Mark Robinson’s gubernatorial campaign in North Carolina is in free-fall right now after a CNN investigation revealed he referred to himself as a Black Nazi and praised slavery. However, I believe the only reason why the GOP turned on him is because he admitted to loving trans porn. The racism stuff? Eh, all good. The anti-semitism? Hey, even better!
In another outrageous episode of eye-ball rolling bigotry that would destroy the political career of any Democrat, Trump openly blamed Jews if he were to lose the 2024 election while addressing a room full of American Jews. “I’m not going to call this as a prediction, but in my opinion the Jewish people would have a lot to do with a loss if I’m at 40%,” he said. He’s deliberately placing a target on Jews during a time of rising antisemitism in which conservatie stalwarts like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens are openly promoting neo-Nazi talking points and Holocaust revisionists.
I’ve written about this before, and you might think I write about it a little too much, but these are all examples of Trump stoking the flames of racial hatred that will inevitably lead to terrorism and violence. He has three tricks left in his bag as he slithers towards the 2024 election and flails in the polls. He will be racist, he will cheat, and he will incite violence. It’s the same 2020 playbook but on steroids.
We can’t sanewash it. We can’t ignore it. We can’t shrug it off. We can’t chalk it up to economic anxiety or racial trip ups. We have to be vigilant, aware, and passionate in condemning it and mobilizing the majority to defeat the ongoing threat that is Trump and MAGA at the ballot box.

He makes me physically ill. I don’t understand someone who can bait people to attack others. They are the ones behaving like animals. I spent decades studying Russia, Poland and WWII. I know how this all works, and it is terrifying. It also tends to snowball until few have any control. Stalin turned on his own people and Ukrainians, but managed to keep things tight. He was singular in that respect, but the Russians themselves were turning on one another to save themselves during the Terror. Once it starts everyone is fair game.
My grandfather was in the Raj in Wurzistan circa 1900 when he was a young man. He rose in the ranks. But I never, ever heard him say anything racist about his troops of whom he was truly fond or of the Afghanis. I am sorry about the Raj. And all these years later look where we are with Afghanistan.
But I digress. This willingness, or even eagerness to hurt blameless people is reprehensible and should get Trump and even more so Vance barred from office. Surely this is clearly action aimed at destroying our democracy.
And as of today, the would-be dictator doesn’t know if he is in Georgia or Louisiana. We are supposed to trust this man?
Politics has become so ugly it's no longer fun to keep up to date with it any longer. How can America tolerate much more of this evilness and hold its head up high with the other countries? Where is our pride? Have we no shame? Don't we care about getting the respect from the other countries?
