THIS MEMORIAL DAY WE WEEP

for the democracy many died to preserve, death of honor in the GOP & POTUS, expiry of a unified American community, passing of U.S. global leadership, demise of evidence-based truth, needless killing of DEI, lost human rights😢

Can’t Trump get a grip on his hate speech, his rage speech, long enough to give a decent Memorial Day speech. Hell no he can’t! This is not the time to fake scare people with your outrageous immigrant lies. I didn’t believe you the first time and a thousand times later, I still know you’re lying. Well, I’m done. NO MORE TRUMP!

No, he can’t control himself. His addled brain can barely read the teleprompted hate; so he’s got to reach back for rallying cries from the campaign. His Arlington speech seemed to be stacked with cultists, but the West Point graduating class was 20+ % women and almost 30+ % minorities. They knew they were observing a demented human with no redeeming qualities!

I've been so NO trump anybody or for ANY REASON since the Id-jit slithered down that escalator in '15. THAT's JUST 10 YEARS AGO & here he is, more ring'y-dinged dumber than even back then with putin in his pocket. He's such a big total loser until musk's $$ helped him buy his way into the idiotic minds of pathetic lousy disloyal 'merican voters. super gross

There are more of us who feel that way than voted for him last time. We need to make sure ALL OF US show-up for the midterms. He must be stopped!

Democrats are not hemorrhaging voters to Maga. That’s not what happened. Democrats failed to see what was happening 40 years ago to make sure to vote in the midterms and to run for school board. And then there is Fox propaganda and Leonard, Leo and Project 2025 and Mitch McConnell. It began with a republican-Ronald Reagan. They planned well and were patient. Democrats were too complacent but now we are riled up. Please don’t use “both sides” the problem. Republicans are evil and Democrats want to help the vulnerable. Can we please focus on the stark difference?

Agree. He continues to repeat the same arguments that led to Trump winning. White people were responsible for Obama winning the Presidency, a statistical fact. Democrats gaslighting regarding the border and a constant focus on LGBTQ while ignoring the economic debacle of a $36 trillion debt was too much for sane Americans to ignore. The Democrats abandoned their constituents for idiocy and handed the Presidency to Trump. Yes, Trump was seen as the lesser of evils. Was does that tell us about the Democratic messaging? Like it or not, elections are a numbers game. When you ignore middle America, which is comprised of many ethnicities, religions and beliefs, you lose. America is neither far right, or far left. Democrats are more responsible for the twit in the WH than the fringe elements that he wants us to believe are a majority. Rubbish!

Yes elections are a ‘numbers game’ but I believe that Musk rigged the election for Donald. And we are all now dealing with the horrific results of that. Winning every swing state + the popular vote and electoral college? No way.

I refuse to go down “the election was rigged” thesis for several reasons. To give breath to that argument would give credibility to Trump’s claim that the election was rigged when Biden was elected. Secondly, it would completely derail any incentive for Americans to vote if they accepted that elections were rigged. Although gerrymandering and influence operations technically cross that line, out right “fixing” has yet to be proven. The ballot box, for now remains our best hope.

Its shameful that this utter depraved excuse for a human being got reelected. I’ll never understand or forgive the people who voted for him.

People don't have to "wake up"! They haven't been asleep. America is a nation of "special needs" white -people. Like kids visiting the zoo who giggle at the chimp eating its boogers or when the ape tosses feces at them, they scream and run even though the distance and the wall say it won't reach.

It's time to embrace the differences between the minds, intelligent and emotional I.Q. of this American's experiment. Some miraculous thing must occur, no more name calling, no label 🏷️ no more divisiveness or schemes to divide, conquer and destroy.

The teacher has lossed control of the class room okay?! And the 🔔 bell is not ringing to dismiss them and send them home. Politicians can not save us. The Ten Commandments posted in class rooms won't fit in...kids can't read and Johnny was left behind. Three dolls for Christmas, who cares?

White 🐻‍❄️🤍 folks must share collective shame. They must collectively destroy racism. It's their problem and they bare the collective responsibilities to end it. There is a white 🤍🐻‍❄️ "safe leader" who can challenge, confront and send the current leader running. Horses 🐎 do it all the time. Even a wise mare can lead the herd, or a young stallion. The people will follow leadership which wasn't stolen or taken with violence. It's time! It's imperative. It's our only hope.

Trump did not receive a majority of votes. He won by a plurality (i.e., less than 50%), and more people voted for somebody other than him than for him. Unfortunately for us all, because those who voted for others didn't vote for the same other in large enough numbers, he won.

And yes, his message is horrific, childish, and reprehensible, particularly for a supposed president of a nation. He shouldn't be in charge of anything let alone a country.

White supremacy is as American as apple pie. MAGA derives its motive energy from white Christians fearful that other races and ethnicities threaten their social, economic, and political dominance. Obviously Trump is deeply racist and frantic about whites losing their demographic majority. He and his army of criminal thugs revealed their true character on January 6 desperately trying to overthrow the 2020 election. Trump memorably expressed his undying love for the marauders, his white supremacist blood brothers and sisters. Hence the outrageous pardons for those found guilty of heinous crimes. Even on Memorial Day, a day of solemn remembrance, Trump seethes with fury and resentment demonstrating once again his temperamental unsuitability for public office. He absolutely can’t tolerate the frustration inherent in our system of separated powers and freedom of political dissent. One reason he’s remains the MAGA champion is because his followers share his rage that critics and political opponents have constitutional freedoms and protections. Even his MAGA cabinet has succumbed to the lockstep idiocy of Fox News and the conspiracy fantasies of X. With Trump and MAGA flying off the rails, the fate of the Republic depends more than ever on people of sanity, perspicacity, goodwill and integrity willing to leave them to the dustbin of history where they belong.

**Black Americans: Still Overwhelmingly Democratic, but with Notable Shifts**

1. **Overall Partisanship**:

- **83% of Black voters** identify as or lean Democratic, while **12% align with the GOP** . This represents a slight decline from 88% Democratic support in 2020 .

- However, **young Black men** are a notable exception: **30% of Black men under 45 supported Trump** in 2024, double his 2020 share .

2. **Religious and Generational Divides**:

- Black **nondenominational Protestants** (a fast-growing group) are less Democratic (60%) and more likely to identify as independents or conservatives. About 25% now self-identify as politically conservative, a shift linked to economic policies and social values .

- **Religious "nones"** (unaffiliated Black Americans) are the least Democratic (43%) but also the least likely to vote .

3. **Recent Elections**:

- Trump gained ground with Black voters in 2024, reducing Harris’s share to **80%** (from Biden’s 90% in 2020) .

- Despite this, Black representation in Congress hit a record **67 Black lawmakers** in 2025, with **62 Democrats** and **5 Republicans** .

### **Latino Americans: Democratic Lean with Growing Republican Inroads**

1. **Overall Partisanship**:

- **61% of Latino voters** lean Democratic, while **35% lean Republican** . However, Trump won **42% of Latino votes** in 2024, up from 32% in 2020 .

- **Latino men** shifted notably: **47% backed Trump** in 2024, driven by economic and border security concerns .

2. **Ticket-Splitting Trends**:

- Many Latino Trump voters **also supported down-ballot Democrats**, suggesting his appeal may be personality-driven rather than a full GOP realignment .

- Regions like the **Rio Grande Valley (Texas)** and **South Florida** saw significant Republican gains, but Democrats held ground in congressional races .

3. **Key Issues**:

- **Economy and inflation** were top concerns, with **52% of Latinos** trusting Trump on economic policy vs. 40% for Biden .

- **Border security** and **cultural issues** also drove conservative Latino voters toward Trump
