I have to staunchly disagree that this is what America has always been. I am elderly, have lived my entire life here, and I have never before lived in this America! This is a cruel, psychotic, deranged disaster.

The FIRST thing we need to do is VOTE OUT these power hungry REPUBLICANS‼️ I worked hard to have a decent retirement. I didn’t know when I was young to invest in my retirement, and many my age were not investing because investing in retirement plans was just not talked about. We depended upon our Social Security. I have Social Security and Medicare, but now it’s just not enough. I have several disabilities and illnesses and take many medications, now I must depend on Medicaid to pay for medical bills that Medicare doesn’t cover and help pay for all my medications. If my Medicaid is cut, I will lose programs I need to survive. I will just become a statistic of this regime…DEAD‼️ I’m a survivor of Ovarian Cancer Stage 3b, TWICE, a victim of Divorce becoming a Single Mother of 3 young Children, held 3 jobs to support them because my alcoholic ex-husband refused to support them. The only extra government support I received was free lunches at school for my 3 children. I did not get any other type government assistance at all for my family or myself.
But now, at 72, I can’t survive without it. I lost my middle child 8 years ago on July 8th. He used to help take care of me, but now I need government assistance and it will probably be taken away by Republicans of this Trump Regime.

I can only hope and do so much to help SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY. Thank you. My father was original antifascist in Europe 1943-1945. I am heartbroken at where we are today, after speaking up and showing up for my entire adult life. My only hopes are that this will wake up enough people that we can truly build a sustainable and equitable and inclusive society and also that we get rid of our empire.
