Astounding isn’t it? Those with the power of the purse, not the voters, have healthcare. They also make it sound as if Medicare (I’m holding my breath) is free! It went up this year as did my AARP supplemental the provider of that whose former CEO was tragically killed is paying the new CEO more. Will hospitals turn away sick people, and then if they treat, bankrupt them to be sick and unhoused? Will the Summer & Fall see measles then flu and COVID surge bc RFK Jr & his overseers say don’t vaccinate & we face another pandemic? Yeah I sound and feel pessimistic because reality does that. So sleep and prayers for Joe and all of us.

My husband just finished treatment for Gleason score 9 prostate cancer. He had external beam radiation, brachytherapy and hormone treatments. Our hearts go out to former President Biden and his family. We do not watch MSM and will not buy any of the books coming out about Biden.

I've read your excellent autobiography and was transfixed by the story of your daughter's cancer. SO glad she has recovered. My family is riddled with cancer; mother (though she died of an experimental chemo's side effect), father, two stepfathers, grandfather, grandmother. My brother and I have both had incipient melanomas removed, and I had a scare 30 years ago that was diagnosed via x-rays as metastasized melanoma in my lungs. It took a lung biopsy to show that it was instead a non-malignant, and dormant, condition. But I went through several months of hell while they tried to find the "original" melanoma.
So I totally share all you say about the devastation of cancer and the HORROR that research is being cut. Dad died in the mid 70s. He might well have survived had treatment been as advanced as it is now.
Pull the book. Out of simple human decency, Jake Tapper should pull his book from the shelves until after Biden has departed this world. Simple, basic human decency. Otherwise, Tapper is absolutely, unequivocally, face planted in Trump's camp as a soulless demon.
