Democratic leadership is moving to the center and adopting Republican talking points to court MAGA voters who will never accept them, all the while throwing their own base under the bus.
I couldn’t see where you live, but I bet it’s not my NC precinct. We won’t get a democrat congressman soon. If be happy with a democrat on the school board.
I don’t like hearing the truth but your commentary is right on. I scream into the void take your gloves off and fight fire with fire. Bitchslap the hell out complicit republicans. We do need new leadership like Crockett AOC even Bernie is fighting unafraid. No more nicities or letting fear guide the Dems. And step aside if you can’t stomach the fight. 💪🏽
And then there is Senator Mark Warner, who appeared on Fox and praised Trump’s border policy and that he respected the office. Too bad Trump doesn’t. What a fool.
Ok no mention of AOC and Jasmine Crockett. They are shining lights of the Democratic Party! Al Green stood up and was thrown out by "Small Johnson!" Liz Warren has done much good for us! As have many others. I'm not bitching at them! I don't belong to any organized political party... I AM A DEMOCRAT!
You are correct. The people you named actually FIGHT. I don’t understand why so many of the rest of the reps are wimps, who continue to suck up to the worst elements in American society.
Waj your awesome I appreciate all that you do! I'm livid, too. But I have to ask though, lets say the Dems condemn Donald and the so called Republican's. They take the gloves off's, they scream and shout instead of holding ping pong paddles but what is the next step? I watched an interview with Ruth Ben-Ghait she was discussing Mussolini's rise to power. His opposition left the Italian parliament in protest and were physically locked out and never allowed back in and the fascists were happy! That was exactly what they wanted. Rep. Al Green spoke truth to power I agree 100% with his actions but asking the rest of the Dems to do the same is not a great idea--fighting with Narcissistic types is not easy they will always try to make you look crazy. I'll also say that the difference between politicians like Newsom and AOC and Jasmine Crockett is that Newsom types are narcissists (incapable of thinking about others) and the AOC's and Jasmine Crockett's are not. Reps like AOC and Crockett are capable of caring for others besides themselves. We need less narcissists in politics! Thanks Waj for allowing a space for us to express our thoughts and feelings.
Because they lack the chutzpah……except for a minor handful….no backbone, balls….they’re stuck in “diplomacy”. And working together to solve problems… HELLO. THAT DOESNT WORK!
You’re right. Chris Murphy, Jasmine, AOC, Frost and Raskin have seized the moment. And, even though I don’t like him, Bernie also speaks up. And, maybe Walz is emerging. But, goddammit, where is everyone else?
Yes, Bernie is a steadfast leader & advocate for regular American people. Another oldie but goodie, Al Green at 77, is putting himself on the line for justice, & Elizabeth Warren keeps plugging away. So a few of the more elderly types still have a lot of energy & moxie, serving the people, & deserve to be where they are.
I also strongly urge watching the video where Jeff Merkley smoothly, calmly but deliberately handles some Trump defenders on the question of whether Trump is a Russian asset.
Mark Cuban is said to be mulling over a run, but he's more of a libertarian than anything, but his locus outside the political establishment is appealing. Can we find a pro-athlete, late night comedian, youthful "influencer", Jeopardy champ, anyone with enough moxie to call out the GOP for what it's become and to expose 47 for the toxic presence he is on this planet?
John Stewart fulfills the late night comedian & anti-establishment qualifications, is influential with a wide range of people, & has very strong credibility among veterans, He is known as a straight talker & is extremely good at pointing out Republican & corporate hypocrisy with a humorous touch. I have heard others mention him, too.
Also Neil DeGrasse Tyson, very intellectual & articulate but enough down to earth to connect with a wide audience, extremely good at debunking right-wing lies & conspiracy theories, & although not a late night comedian himself, is familiar & popular to those who do watch late night comedy. He is extremely well-versed in science at a time when we desperately need to get government to once again consult science when making decisions, & a top notch critical thinker in an era when critical thinking is at its weakest in both the US population & political leadership.
Dems always want to do the "right thing ", unlike gop. It's about time they starter playing by the same rules. There is no such thing as solidarity in the democratic party. And let's not forget about that prick Fetterman.
The fight is between labor and capital. Lincoln said labor is superior to capital, and he was right. Dems need to become the Labor Party or Working People's Party so the line is clearly drawn. We're stuck with a two-party system, so let's announce who we are and more importantly, who we are not.
I could not believe it, that Democrats didn’t all get up and file out when Representative Al Green was removed. The fact that 10 Democrats voted ‘for’ censure has cost my support for the Democratic Party.
Finally, with the actions of Newsome and the 10 Dems who voted to censure Rep. Green today, I believe I'm done identifying as a Democrat. So disappointed in the lack of b*lls the Dems have shown this past month.
I’ve posted this elsewhere but I believe this appropriate:
Dems should have had a PLANNED WALKOUT TOGETHER, gathered on the Capitol steps to denounce Trumphuk’s lies and horrific policies selling out America’s security, ruining its economy, crushing democracy, destroying its and the rest of the worlds people’s health. For crying out loud STAND UP, RISE UP!
No more despicable than my senator from Pennsylvania, John Fetterman. Got elected by campaigning as a progressive, turned despicable, right wing POS. You can look up some of his record because it makes me want to vomit.
He's another one of whom I was suspicious from the beginning. He seemed to me to be playing a role as a man of the people, when that wasn't necessarily who he was. I was pulling for Malcolm Kenyatta in the Democratic primary for that Senate seat.
I did like Mr Kenyatta, but thought he was not experienced enough did not have name recognition. Regarding Fetterman. He really hugely disappointed in his behavior toward his constituent base who contacted him about the genocide in Gaza. I recall Fetterman justifying celebrating and approving of Israel's infiltrating and placing bombs in cell phones. WHAT the actual F*CK.
I’m angry!! Why aren’t they screaming throughout Congress the proof that Trump is, and has been for a long time, a Soviet asset!!
since 1987
Democratic leadership has aged out. We need younger, more forceful leadership.
Ain’t that the truth. But they managed to shut AOC out of chairing that committee. Typical example of the opportunities they miss.
And we need an organized campaign of protesting, pressuring, calling, emailing to get them to force Schumer OUT.
100%
The only answer is to primary the feckless incumbents...it's not as though experience is needed to be a potted plant.
Literally, 200 random people off the street would provide far better representation.
Support "Run For Something"...there are 500 lower-level elected seats that the Democratic party ignores.
Electing young progressives will build a bottom-up movement. They will be the future leaders.
Jeffries and his ilk were trained to support donors, mumble platitudes, and pass inoffensive legislation that won't disturb Silicon Valley or AIPAC.
Somebody has to run.
Thousands have signed up for campaign training by RFS to run for positions over the next 4 years.
The chaotic, unjustified federal layoffs ensures that many veterans will decide to run for office.
Candidates won't be an issue…
I couldn’t see where you live, but I bet it’s not my NC precinct. We won’t get a democrat congressman soon. If be happy with a democrat on the school board.
Amen, amen, amen.

I emailed Warner..he needs to button his lip and keep it buttoned until he retires, which should be asap in my opinion.

i mention both :)

I have watched "Republican lite" fail in Ohio in the 2 past Senatorial races. It's a strategy doomed to failure.
Sherrod Brown is definitely not at all “Republican lite”.
I hope he runs for Ohio governor against Vivek.
I just changed my personal affiliations from Democrat to Pro-democracy Progressive Leftist. Seriously, wtf Democrats!
