This goal of taking absolute and complete power began in earnest with the infamous Powell Memo to the US Chamber of Commerce in 1971. In that memo it spells out the detailed and precise roadmap to gain and keep power in America by the Corporate and Wall Street world. They have to date essentially fulfilled that memo's "call to arms" by taking political control of school boards, city councils all the way up the political and cultural chain to the federal level. They have, also, completed their goal of using their vast resources of money to buy off politicians and to direct donations to universities so that they could get rid of the "communist professors" corrupting our colleges! It has taken the GOP (aka now the MAGA Fascists Party) 50 years. They looked at the long range goals and made it happen year by year. Trump and MAGA are the end result of their intentional manifestation of having real absolute and total control of our country, lock, stock and barrel. It is WAY past time for decent people who have been asleep at the wheel these past 5 decades to GET INVOLVED in whatever capacity one is able. NOW or never.....literally.

Correct, Mark. Waj HAS nailed it. It cannot be said more clearly than he has stated. Cut and paste it and save it and send to everyone you know.

I think anyone reading this Substack is more than aware. I hope the people in power are prepared for the illegal and criminal activities we know his campaign will continue to employ as the election nears and after the results are in. The confidence of Kevin Roberts and his ilk scares me to death! Is anyone hopeful this election will be free and fair???

The quiet part out load . . . .he is getting like a caged animal and bold, “if you vote for me in November, you will never have to vote again.”

Can the message be any clearer?

Thanks, as always, Waj!

Something to think about, if for no other reason to understand that things are in God's control and He will not abandon his own - - if we acknowledge His love and that He died for all of us. I am Catholic and will not be able to vote for either candidate for reasons I possess myself. And I am reasonably sure that there are millions of Americans who are in the same vexing situation. We need divine guidance and trust in His care and love for us.

Please, Phil, while you still have free will, use it! Vote for freedom and democracy because you may never have a chance to vote again if we lose this election. Vote for love and compassion for your fellow man as opposed to fear and hate as promulgated by the other party. This is freedom versus fascism not religion versus atheism.💙💙💙

"Those who do not believe in God will believe anything".

G.K. Chesterton

I hear and understand your angst. Our country is at a moral crossroads; I wish it was not so cut and dried about choices. I did not vote Republican last time, either and am not happy about the Hobson's choice facing us. Try listening to/online "Relevant Radio" for insight, also.

I promise I will give it the deepest thought possible between now and November. BTW, if you can, read Carlos Lozada's "What Were We Thinking" for a thoughtful exegesis of the situation. I am doing my own research on a possible answer and I still believe that God will guide us. He cares about us, too.

Thanks for your input. God bless you and yours.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. You are obviously a compassionate person.

I must add one caveat to your comment: "Those who can make you believe absurdities will make you commit atrocities." I believe that was Voltaire and as a former French teacher, I am embarrassed to admit that I am not sure. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe in a loving God who does not punish or judge. I left the Catholic Church many years ago. As a child I was told that I was a lowly worm who deserved nothing unless I repented over and over and over again. That is not the God I want to believe in and I sure hope you don't either.

All is well and our democracy will be saved by the loving good souls among us who want to include and bless all humans regardless of creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and belief systems.💙
