No one with any sense wants to see this bloodshed. Anyone with any sense wants these 2 peoples to find some way to put aside their differences. Only then can there be a 2 state solution in a parcel of land the size of New Jersey.. No doubt Bibi and his buttplugs Shmotrich and BenGvir (or maybe the other way around) make it very hard to stick up for Israel. Conspicuous by its absence in this conversation is Hamas. No one wants peace less than Hamas. No one cares less about Palestinian civilians than Hamas. No doubt Bibi's history of propping up Hamas as a pretext to avoid negotiations is certifiably insane. Nevertheless Islamofascism from the river to the sea is obviously not in the best interest of the US. This is the obvious answer to why Biden is seemingly powerless to keep Bibi in check. All these grand roadmaps of a refurbished Palestinian Authority and Saudis are all well and good but Hamas is not going to just take its vast arsenal and vanish.

I very much appreciate this exchange.

However, a corrective: please remember that the Orange Menace is not now holding any elected office / and hopefully never will again - and so he should only be referred to as the FORMER President…

I’ve always liked N. Kristoff. He shows a lot of courage by writing on topics that are controversial. As an Oregonian, if the opposition had not been successful in keeping him off the ballot, I would have hands down voted for him for governor as I do think he’d bravely try for real equity and equality, opportunity for all, etc. I appreciate learning about his work on this issue, and his reporting. We are a varied group, those of us who think Biden has blown it with his response to Israel since October 7. Kristoff is an informed voice with an ability to get these issues heard. Thank you for having him on Chai Talk!

Unfortunately I've heard Harris reiterate untruths about 7 October. I'm not sure how she can change that.

Does anyone know what the actual goals of Hamas, the Houthis, and Hezbollah are, as they are all mercenaries of Iran? Is perpetual sowing of discord all there is, or are they groups whose fanaticism has found justifications, feeble though those justifications may be? Legions of young males finding a purpose? Netanyahu is meeting Hamas with equal fanaticism and making Israel a pariah in the process as it wipes out a civilian population that neither Hamas nor Iran care about.

The goals of Houthi’s, Hamas and Hezbollah are undoubtedly to defend themselves, their family members and neighbors and afflicted allies from being genecided off the

Planet - especially after decades of ruthless, faschistic colonization and now funded by

billionaire Americans eager to cash in on the Gaza oil and potentially mega bucks bungalow waterfront real estate. The GrateHedgeyamoney is simply doing its “ thing” and the people who get rolled over by the tanks and bombs are courageously and desperately trying to stay alive !

The ongoing "encroachment" of Settlements in the West Bank certainly supports some of this, especially when one notes that those who've been doing the seizing lately have been American Zionists. Their effrontery and ruthlessness have been shocking. And the Israelis themselves were in the streets protesting against Netanyahu and his rightwing government long before the Hamas attack, almost as an acknowledgement that they were aware of the ongoing crimes and knew it was wrong. And to your point, Trump gave away the game with his comments about desirable "waterfront" real estate.

Apartheid is absolutely the right term to describe Israel. He list me right there.
