Happy 4th of July weekend for all the readers in America, and happy random Saturday for everyone else.
My wife has told me I’m on a mini vacation this weekend, but apparently, I’m a workaholic. I had an itch I had to scratch, and felt compelled to step away from a busy barbecue to address it.
For those who aren’t masochists, you probably missed the paper of record, The New York Times, further tarnishing its legacy and reputation by engaging in one of the most shameless smears of Zohran Mamdani. They decided it was worth relying upon a literal white nationalist and eugenicist source to inform the public that Mamdani checked both Asian and African American boxes in his application to Columbia University. For those who don’t know, Mamdani was born in Uganda, which is in Africa. He is also the son of Indian immigrants to America. Shocking, I know. NYT relied upon hacked information and hid the identity and whitewashed the eugenicist, whose real name is Jordan Lasker, as “an academic” who “writes often about I.Q. and race.”
To make it worse, the NYT censored its own writer, Jamelle Bouie, who called them out for this horrific lapse of editorial judgment, and asked him to remove his critical comments.
Instead, their official response doubled down with a non-apology and further proves that the entire establishment is willing to burn us all down for the sake of the oligarchy.
Meanwhile, I am still waiting for the major NYT story on Donald Trump using the anti-semitic term “shylock” to describe NYC Jewish bankers. It took ADL an entire day to come out with a weak criticism. I guess actual anti-semitism and Sieg Heils aren’t as troubling as pro-Palestinian chants and college students who are against genocide. I appreciate rabid, pro-Israel Zionist racists like John Podhoretz keeping it real. Maybe he’ll find time to speak out against Old Glory Club, a far-right, antisemitic men’s club that is spreading across America with 26 chapters. Or, maybe he’ll sign up for membership.
Meanwhile, I look forward to triggering all the right people with this tweet that seems to have pissed off MAGA and brought out all the racists. Their nervous breakdowns and rage are the sugar of my chai.
I’ll be back on Monday. But I want to thank Qasim Rashid, who joined me at the last second, for this impromptu Chai Talk to break down the madness.
