What Does The Majority Need to Build After The No Kings Protests?

The No Kings protest against Trump was a stunning success, but it needs to be mobilized into a majority movement that is willing to take on and replace the oligarchy and failed establishment.

Last weekend’s No Kings rallies were a stunning success, with millions of Americans across fifty states coming out to protest Donald Trump’s increasingly authoritarian and failed regime. The images and videos of diverse Americans uniting to protect our democracy and freedoms were an inspiring contrast juxtaposed with Trump’s pathetic, sparsely populated military parade.

However, we’ve recently witnessed similar displays of solidarity with BLM protests and #MeToo that unfortunately didn’t mobilize enough Americans to show up to vote against a corrupt vulgarian who is committed to turning the Oval Office into his ATM. This energy and righteous rage must be sustained into a long-term movement that can be mobilized for the upcoming elections. Unfortunately, Democrats, who represent the political opposition, have lower favorability ratings than Trump and are currently strapped for cash as donors and voters are abandoning the sinking ship.

Democratic leaders, such as Senator Schuler and Rep. Jeffries, are MIA as Republicans bang the war drums against Iran, with Tucker Carlson and Rep. Massie of all people stepping up to fill the void. Instead of boosting popular leaders, such as AOC, Zohran Mamdani, and Rep. Crockett, the Democratic establishment wants to push centrist losers such as Senator Slotkin and rally around predator Andrew Cuomo.

The narrative that works to bridge both Trump and AOC voters takes on the establishment and the 1% who are abusing institutions to line their own pockets at the expense of the majority. However, most of our establishment leaders, whether in politics, law, finance, or media, want a return to normalcy without reform. They’re not built for this fight against fascists, and they aren’t made for this moment when the majority demands radical change.

How can the majority bypass these ossified leaders and continue building on the grassroots energy of the No Kings rallies to defeat MAGA and commit to actual reformation?

The Home Front’s Reed Galen invited me on his Substack to come up with some answers to these questions. Give us a watch and let us know if you agree.
