War criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, the herpes of Israel, is addressing the United States Congress today in an appeal to continue his genocidal war to stay in power and avoid accountability for his numerous alleged crimes. Unlike before, he hasn’t been embraced with a bear hug.

Bad news travels fast.

President Biden will instead be giving his first speech after announcing he isn’t seeking re-election. VP Kamala Harris had decided to talk to a “colored” sorority. Senator Bernie Sanders has openly rallied Democrats not to attend. Senator Jerry Nadler, the most senior Jewish member of the House of Representatives, is also skipping the event and took to Twitter to declare Netanyahu “the worst leader in Jewish history since the Maccabean king who invited the Romans into Jerusalem over 2100 years ago.”

This is all welcomed news, but Palestinians are still dying in Gaza and the West Bank, and they are suffering under Israeli occupation. The United States remains complicit in these war crimes as the Biden Administration continues arming and funding the most extreme right-wing government in Israel’s history.

With Biden’s legacy now on the line, how can the Biden-Harris administration pivot towards a more just, humanitarian, and successful Israel-Palestine policy?

I spoke to Palestinian American journalist Rula Jebreal about how President Biden can help end Israel’s failed war and also limit Netanyahu’s extremist vision and ambitions, which in part are shared by authoritarians around the world. In addition, I asked Rula why Americans should pay attention to the rise of fascism in places like Italy and how there is still time to avoid such a fate here.
